Watching the Bulldogs vs roosters game right now and the way the Bulldogs forwards wrap the players up but also make sure they can't offload it by holding there arms is something our forwards really need to practice. Keary just produced a piece of magic offload however. Which is what we don't want to let happen. God his running game is actually deadly.

Statistically we were better than the tigers in some areas. Our completion rate was 88% without the Burgess'. We also only made 6 errors compared to the tigers 11. It was the missed tackles that killed us. 42 missed tackles all up against a team with slippery players like Tedesco. Although it was in the rain as well.
Exactly mate!
Forget the other so called"truth see'ers" .
You and I are the real truth see'ers.
Least number of errors in the league and one of the best completion rates in horrible conditions.
4th in line break assists
7th in line breaks
7th in offloads
Penalties conceded equal 2nd best
8th in Tackle breaks

It's not all shit and disaster offensively.
We just need to get better defensively.

If Reynolds isn't ready then I'm hoping Madge selects Cook at halfback. He is looking as quick as ever and is taking on the line. If Madge isn't sure about his kicking game then Walker at can take care of the kicking duties.

P.S. If Cook didn't work out at halfback, he could switch with Farah at hooker. They could switch at times anyway, even if Cook is doing good at halfback.

Statistically Souths were horrible vs the Tigers. One of the most important factors is who is winning the collisions. NRL match stats tell us Souths had 49% possession and Tigers 51% possession so almost equal. Souths made 160 runs while Tigers made 161 runs so again almost equal. But Souths only made 1432 metres while the Tigers made 1807 metres which is a huge difference. Souths were making 9m a run but Tigers were making 11.2 metres a run. So Tigers were making 2m extra every run of the game or 10m extra every set of the game

Tigers were driving Souths back in the tackles. On the other hand Tigers were making ground in the tackles so winning the collisions

Bottom line is both sides had equal opportunity with the ball but the Tigers made miles better use of it

It would have been better for Souths if they had an excuse like much less possession but they did not

Souths need the Burgess twins firing or else they will get monstered in the collisions all season long

Strong mail this morning is Madge has cleared AR to play.

Wacko's whispers.

George and Tom Burgess on outer at South Sydney but 'far from finished', say teammates

Darlings of the competition alongside older brother Sam when South Sydney won an historic premiership in 2014, twins George and Tom Burgess now find themselves languishing in reserve grade but teammates insist the 24-year-olds are "far from finished" as major players at the Rabbitohs.

The Burgess twins could both turn out for feeder team North Sydney in the Intrust Super Premiership this weekend, with George recalled to Michael Maguire's 21-man squad to play Manly at Lottoland on Saturday but listed outside the top 17 and Tom left out altogether.

It is a far cry from the days three seasons ago when George was considered among the best props in the world and Tom was a star in the making as they and the more decorated Sam all claimed grand final glory over Canterbury. The oldest of the English brothers, Luke, also played 18 games for the club in their premiership season.

Sam Burgess will captain Souths against the Sea Eagles after the season-long knee injury suffered in round one by Greg Inglis, who underwent surgery on Wednesday.

While the twins may miss out against Manly, with Dane Musgrove and Dave Tyrrell starting in the front row, two other forwards who are in line to feature on Saturday insist the pair still has plenty to offer.

"We know what they're capable of and I guess them playing reserve grade is really an indicator of the competition that we have here at the club," back-rower Angus Crichton said.

"We've got so much depth and so much strength in our squad that two players that have won a grand final together are playing reserve grade. It would be hard for them to take that but, at the end of the day, it's going to make them a better player, it's going to going to make everyone on the field better players. That competition just drives success.

"They're far from finished, those boys."

While the loss of Inglis is a crushing blow for Souths' ambitions this season, their healthy forward stocks are a plus and they will take on a Manly pack missing a key figure, Martin Taupau, due to suspension.

"It just shows the depth of our forward pack. It's really competitive," said Souths' new addition Robbie Rochow. "I know every time I play that there's a chance someone is fighting for that position.

"I think that's going to be the position all year whereas if you don't play to how 'Madge' expects you to play, then it's going to be tough to hold your spot. I'm sure [the Burgess twins] will respond in the right manner, do their best at training and work hard to get back into the 17."

Halfback Adam Reynolds has trained this week in a bid to make an early return from pre-season surgery but has not yet done any contact work.

"It would be good to have him back, the quality player that he is," interchange hooker Damien Cook said. "But safety first. You've got to make sure he's right to play. If he's fit and ready to go that's good for us."

Jennings set for Rabbitohs debut
By The Mole
March 10, 2017

THE YOUNGER brother of Test and State of Origin centre Michael Jennings is set to make his debut for South Sydney in a late switch for Saturday’s clash against Manly.

Robert Jennings, 21, switched to Souths from Penrith over the summer and has been named as 18th man by coach Michael Maguire.

But RLW has learned that Maguire is considering bringing the tall Jennings into his starting side in place of Siosifa Talaki.

Under the new NRL rules, coaches must name a 21-man squad on Tuesdays and pick their final 17 from that.

Jennings missed the top 17 on Tuesday but was named as 18th man.

Chief playmaker Adam Reynolds will also lineup for his first start of the season on Saturday after recovering well from appendix surgery.

The Rabbitohs were extremely disappointing first up against the Tigers and need a win to get their campaign on track.

Jennings debuted in 2015, managing five matches for the Panthers.

If Reynolds is cleared then he's cleared I can't see any real risk if he's ready.

With him back into the fold we have a real chance here. I'm hoping AJ can really take the #1 jersey with both hands and prove all his doubters wrong.

Can't wait to see Jennings and Burns out wide on Saturday yew I knew they would be in quick smart
iF the forwards can manage to WIN THE COLLISION and dominate the ruck then our backs will be full of running all night , especially with our little general back
