So to this weeks game.

Jim Maloney will miss this game thanks to his tripping charge against the Dogs.
Luai will replace him and I'd like to see Leniu come onto the bench.

1. Dylan EDWARDS
2. Josh MANSOUR
3. Dean WHARE
4. Brent NADEN
5. Brian TO'O
6. Jarome LUAI
7. Nathan CLEARY
8. James TAMOU
9. Mitch KENNY
10. James FISHER-HARRIS
11. Liam MARTIN
12. Frank WINTERSTEIN
13. Isaah YEO

14. Wayde EGAN
15. Spencer LENIU
16. Moses LEOTA
17. Reagan CAMPBELL-GILLARD

Edit: forgot Kikau is back and Maloney is fighting his tripping charge ( I don't know how he hopes to defend this maybe he is trying to reduce the grading).
So Kikau in for Winterstein but I would still like to see Leniu given a shot.

Is there any word on Luai's eye injury? Jimmy will likely try to argue it wasn't an intentional trip and he was playing at the ball. I doubt they'll swallow it though.

Went to bankwest last Saturday and actually spoke to spencer leniu at halftime. He warmed up with the boys before the game as 18th man so he must be close to a start. He said to me he came to penrith from nz in 2010 and he loves the club signing a new 2yr extension.Hes a very quietly spoken guy who lets his football do the talking if anyone deserves his shot in 1st grade this yr spencer is the one.Runs hard hits hard and is a very consistent performer in canterbury cup knows how to score tries for a frontrower as well goodluck when the team is announced this arvo spence hope your named in the 17.

Hey that's what I said! Great minds and all that :joy:. How cool to see him get his debut and smash it.

We are zero chance to win this so should debut Crichton, Burns and Leinu. For Naden, Winterstein and RCG ( if Maloney gets off)

We are still equal 7th on competition points, so think it’s too early to give up on the season and start debuting rookies in prep for next year.

Would be happy to see Leinu get a debut though, as he would add something different to our current forwards.

You do realise the Sharks also lost to both Raiders and Bulldogs in successive weeks not so long ago? I think we see a different Panthers this week.

The Sharks weren't last in most categories for the season though. Where do our points come from?

For and against is bad enough attack is even worse.

Naden has bombed many tries...So who is saying Crichton goes any worse?
Burns is leading try scorer in NSW Cup and we have a small bench that needs more to it. Same reason for Leinu.

So no reason the changes don't make us stronger anyway?

It makes perfect sense to me.

Poor Wade Egan, his scrotum injury must be worse than we thought. Running for zero metres last week must have aggravated it.

Tbf every time I've experienced it zero centermerers feels like a struggle.

It doesn't matter who replaces Maloney, our attack is so blunt and ineffective, we will only score if Cronulla get five players sent off. Even then its touch and go whether we can score enough points.

Maybe I'm being harsh and Yeo and Kikau receiving an inside ball from Cleary bamboozles them and they both stroll through on several occasions, helping us rack up a cricket score.

Actually, I was making up the scrotum injury. I just thought since he never runs, he has a split in his scrotum and is worried his balls will drop out if he opens his legs.

For the record, I'm really hoping his lack of running is due to the coach, not him.

Official statement

https://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news/2019/08/06/injury-update-luai-egan/

Panthers playmaker Jarome Luai and hooker Wayde Egan have been ruled out of Friday's game against Cronulla Sharks due to injury.

Luai continues to suffer from double vision after being poked in the eye by Bulldogs prop Dylan Napa in the second half of Saturday's game at Bankwest Stadium.

He will receive specialist medical advice this week to help determine the best course of action for a full recovery.

Meanwhile, Egan suffered a recurrence of an ongoing shoulder issue and his availability will be assessed again next week
