Round 24 v Roosters

Wacko’s Whispers: Still no Boyd Cordner for the Roosters - he failed his fitness test and will not be a late inclusion. The star backrower is expected to return for the final round of the regular season. Latrell Mitchell is expected to return after being late withdrawal week due to minor calf injury. Luke Keary could be a late scratching if his wife, who is due to give birth, goes into labour before the game.

Wacko’s Whispers: Mitch Kenny is Penrith’s only concern after the rookie rake suffered an arm injury at training this week. Panthers officials expect him to play but Wayde Egan may still come onto the bench as a replacement for Jarome Luai. Rookie Second Rower Billy Burns will play NRL debut from bench.

If the Roosters were to let him go, it'd be because they don't think he's worth what they have to pay him. They seem to get these things right most of the time.
Unless they are making a play for David Fifita and neep cap space. One man's trash is another Man's treasure.

I think the Roosters have already put him on notice he may not be extended beyond his current contract and if he is it will be on significantly reduced money to what he currently earns. It is just an age thing, he is not going to get any better at his age but currently he is still doing the business plays longer minutes and averages more yards than our main front rowers.

I’m sure he is capable at playing at or near his current level for another two or three seasons but we shouldn’t entertain him unless for a deal consistent with his age and not anywhere near what he would currently earn.

I subscribe to the theory only to believe half of what you hear and read from our Rugby League journo’s and even then only half of that may turn out to be true.

Heard a Brisbane based journo interviewed on radio this afternoon stating the suggestions Darius Boyd is on 800K for the next two seasons incorrect. He suggested Boyd’s contract had him on 800K this season, 600K in 2020 and 400K in 2021. His 2021 deal is only valid subject to his playing a minimum 15 NRL games in 2020 so he made the point Darius will 100% play on in 2020 (why wouldn’t’t he not going to give up 600K) and 2021 would be up in the air given it would be easy for Seibold to drop Boyd or he gets injured and doesn’t play the required amount of games to activate his 2021 deal. The long and short of it was David Fafita isn’t going anywhere and will be resigned with the Bronco’s despite which we will continue to have journos linking him to all 15 other clubs for goodness knows how long.
