Not quite correct. We beat the Titans by the same score two years ago at Bathurst in a home game. But at Penrith I'm sure its correct.

And if I remember correctly we shat the bed results-wise for a while after that 40-0. Let's hope history doesn't repeat

We started off that year terrific. Then Soward was sent for surgery he should have had in the off season and our team just struggled with injuries from there.

Certainly weren't any fit players. With the guys we have running around in reggies, we'd still be fielding very strong sides if we copped those sorts of injuries now.

What fun do you get out of coming on here and repeating - ad nauseam - that we are stupid for not agreeing with whatever the club does?
I've given this some thought. Stupid is your word, not mine. If the shoe fits...as they say. Unless you can find and link a post where I've said this about anyone, not just you, I'm calling bullshite. There is a difference between having a different opinion and calling someone stupid but it probably takes a certain level of maturity to recognise it. If you really think I called you (and do you always refer to yourself as "we") stupid, well maybe there is more to this.

I'd like nothing more than to get along with those who share my passion for the Penrith Panthers. Not everyone is always going to agree. But when it gets personal, as in "what fun do you get..." and "who is the weakest link" ffs you lose me. I consider this sort of thing to be the behaviour of children in a playground and I won't any longer respond to it.

Well, I thought this was going to be a lot closer than it was... We just looked like we were on another level out there! CHN had a great debut. TMM took me back to 03 and "THAT" tackle :) Wallace was outstanding in the middle, putting his body on the line all game to make tackles. Was just a great night with everyone playing great. Good time to be a Panthers fan!

How quick is TMM.... He was 10 back and walking before chasing down Ross..

Great win, many said this would be close and a danger game. Newcastle have been playing well, but it was boys against men..

RCG, haven't seen him hit it up like that in a long time. Great to see.

We need to keep up the enthusiasm. A lot of us thought this was a danger game because the team has always had a habit of being complacent when we think we should win.

We'll need to bring it next week, but at least the boys won't be expecting to walk it in.

I think we were better at scoring on the goal line in past years and think that was because we used to offload a lot more. I suspect in striking the balance between less errors and chancing our hand in attack, the team is under instructions not to take any risky offloads.

However, in circumstances where the alternative is just to get caught with the ball in hand on the 5th, I think we should offload more when on the goal line even if we don't offload so much in general play.

I said it earlier. Good defences we struggle as the really slow it down and we are inside attacking a set line. More of the tries like CHN scored will help us inside the 20. backrowers getting halves one on one etc.

Hopefully as the year goes on we get there.

Stifles the attack? You have no idea do . If he is so bad why even waste a bench spot on him let's just get another robot to take his place and piss him off to another club and be done with it

Cartwright is falling into the Mateo role of footballers rather then the SBW.
What wins games is tough forwards with skillfull backs. Cartwright has more skills then any current forward in the game. But he also is one of the softest. His tackling can be weak. His first thing that should come to mind is run the ball as hard as he can. If there is a chance to offload so be it. He is falling into the trap of what do I do with the ball and this creates errors.
I reckon Bryce can play origin. And for Australia. He has all the skills and the size. But its no good having a guy who does 2 good things and 4 bad.

Cartwright averaged over a hundred metres a game last year playing half a season in the halves and he had more tackle breaks than any of your forwards besides Edwards, he will be fine he just needs to improve his decision making. Defensively his numbers are on par with Wade Graham and it doesn't hold Graham back.

As for stifling the attack that is just nonsense, his errors hurt just like anyone's do but he was a back rower forced to play in the halves last year he wasn't just going to slot straight into a new halves pairing without any hiccups. Once he is healthy, if he stays that way and is allowed an uninterrupted run in the back row he will rocket back into origin contention.

Spot on. In defence and attack he can be his own guy which doesn't end well. For example rushes up or hangs back when the line does the other. goes for the crazy offload. His numbers stack up to many many other forwards despite this

I'm beginning to have doubts that Cartwright really has the drive and composure to be a top, top player - this season is very, very important for him. Here's hoping he sorts himself out and works hard on his weaknesses - he has enormous potential.

My biggest concern is how hard he pushes himself off the field. He doesn't look as fit as he could be to me. He needs to read the story Darren Lockyer just wrote about Milford and take it all on board.

At 5/8 (not at second row where he was less effective) Cartwright was providing more offense than Moylan and Cleary per handle, basically the opposite of stifling attack.

Defending his defence though has gotten old while it hasn't gotten any better.

I like forwards that not only tackle but dominate the wrestle and have the odd bone crushing defense so you do not want to run at them.
Would you rather cartwright or JFH hit you if had the ball? Do not just consider the offload and trick ball that comes off maybe once a game.

Once a game? Lol go away. He's a constant threat to offload, he gets it wrong sometimes and cost us but that shit happens with young players. Second phase play was one of our biggest weapons last season, just because an offload doesn't lead to a try directly doesn't mean its worthless. You are seriously underselling Bryces attacking ability of you think an offload or trick ball is all he offers.

I have to say my hype for Cartwright is on the decrease. Some people think he's the second coming but I don't see it. I don't think we're particularly worse off without him.

He's not the second coming by any means but he's going to be a rep player for sure imo and I think he is talented enough he could be an all time great if he works hard enough, but like I said earlier I have doubts over his work ethic.
