Why are some surprised by Moga, he has been picked at 18th man or in the reserves every week and not Max Feagai. Hook could not wait to throw in Moga. Good news is, if they get smashed on Sunday before the board meeting, we may see a change quicker than we think in the coaching ranks if it has not already been done. We can only hope.

Well…if he picked Moga, it wasn’t based on speed, nor skill.
It’s completely representative of the insipid nature of the Griffin “coaching” mindset. Pick a bog average yet supposedly reliable player instead of a threat to the opposition.
We already can’t defend - 50 missed tackles last week - so now let’s reduce our capacity to score points as well…. I never in my wildest dreams thought I could be more depressed about the prospects of the team than under McGregor, but hey, here we are…..

Hook picks teams for completion rates with the fantasy belief that if you complete high enough you will win games. I thought maybe this year we would be more creative and attacking. But old man Moga on the wing instead of Max Feagai who played so well last weekend on the wing in KOA is typical poor selection by Hook. As is the selection of Amone over Sullivan. Sullivan added so much more to our attack at 6 and played great over the weekend while Amone offered nothing .
Agree with all that but I'll raise you with an extension of his fantasy- and that is outside backs don't need to be quick but do need to be big and, as we see with Rav, Suli and Feagai, they're part of his one out, crash ball, metre eating, high completion plan to win games. He's probably convinced that Moga's size will help the cause. Ah delusion- so sad.

I am still scarred from last year when Moga took an intercept and got tired at the halfway mark whilst looking like he was running in cement. I would have hung up the boots if that was me personally being a winger. But under Hook, he knew he will get some game time in 2023 so why would he retire. Money for nothing at Saints if your a Qlder.

Yeah, Hook subscribes to Mary’s coaching lessons “the Power Game and all that”

The scarring (and embarrassment) is shared by you and me both. But worse was to come when (I think-not sure of the timing) in a later match, when the Dragons were attacking, a ball went astray near him. An opposition player picked it up and took off on a 50m run to score. He looked and saw who had picked it up and didn't even bother chasing. Left it to the (not particularly speedy) Lomax- who- to his credit- never gave up the chase and at least caused the player to stay out wide.

If all that was required of Moga was to dive over in the corner from 5 metres out, he's your man. Unfortunately, most wingers are required to run as well.

Ok finally my prediction for this game. What a week we have had, I think I'm looking forward to next Tuesday more. But anyway here goes, after all the massive distractions of this week plus the selections and non selections we can either go and show some ticker or go out there and get smacked real bad. I would have no idea on scores but if we are playing with no pride or care for the jumper the flood gates will open. I just dont want to believe this division within the team, its really doing my head in. Go the Dragons , show us something, anything !!!

We can only dream of one day having a Dragons side that will once again -
- show cohesion in attack & run hard & straight
- defend like a first grade side with purpose & enthusiasm
- show disipline by removing the excessive number of missed tackles, penalties & infringements
- be consistant in all of the above, week after week
- and above all have pride in the mighty Red V jumper
Alas we continue to live in hope that one day.......

I dont even look forward to our games anymore. I have not watched a dragons game live for a long time.
After giving it a lot of thought i believe we need a strong Coach.
That leaves Hasler Flannigan or Maguire as it is doubtful Bellamy would be a realistic candidate.
