Te Maire Martin trained at fullback today ahead of tomorrow's selections.

Reynolds failed to complete the session with a knee injury.

Tyson Gamble over Ezra Mam.

Seriously Kevin needs to go, I like Kevie, but the straw that broke this camels back.

Guy has no idea, Ezra is twice the player.

Actually keep Kevin, your team is absolutley no threat to anyone else with him in charge.

Sign him for 10 years, so you fail for 10 years.

Send Ezra to the Tigers or the Dogs, probably end up in Melbourne, they know talent.

Tyson f**king Gamble, what a joke.

Ezra is 18 years old and is still adjusting to the physicality of QCup. His time will come but he'll be eased into first grade unlike Dearden who was thrown to the wolves and is only just starting to look like a first grader.

Gamble is a solid stop-gap, not unlike Ryley Jacks.

Mate he is class above Q-Cup and he is only 18. He is old enough and good enough.

Inglis, Ettingshausen, Reece Walsh, just a few old enough and good enough @ 18.

So is Mam.

But hey enjoy another loss.

When was the last time you watched him play? He was in good form last year but since teams are scouting him he hasn't been as effective and has been a liability in defence.

Live in person a couple of weeks ago. He is a class above that grade, he plays in one of the weakest QCup sides.

Anyways when he gets a run he will be the talk of the NRL, probably a dolphin by then wanting a go in first grade, stuck behind the coaches son.

Billy is only signed till the end of the year, Ezra is signed till 2024. He knows what's expected of him and that the club is going to be patient with his development.

He's a good prospect, but he's still struggling with the basics. QCup is the right level for him at this time and he will receive his opportunity when he's ready.

Brisbane Broncos 34 (Cobbo 2, Oates, Paix, Reynolds, Kennedy tries; Reynolds 5/6 goals) def. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 14

3-4

It was a come from behind win for the Broncos. It was in the 54th minute where Farnworth challenged a call of knock-on, he was successful and Paix snuck over from dummy half to give the Broncos some much needed momentum.

Brisbane were fortunate in the sense that Canterbury should have racked up a much bigger lead than what they did. Physically they were all over them winning the ruck with ease both on and off the ball but they just opened the door and Brisbane to their credit kicked it down.

I think where the Broncos excelled was their variation around the ruck. They started to get more numbers around the ball and tip it on among the forwards. Haas found Kennedy with a few good short passes and that allowed the Broncos to win the ruck and bring Reynolds into the game.

Reynolds was fantastic in that final quater and really stepped up for the Broncos producing some wonderful pin-point passes and kicks to create points for his team. Cobbo also came up with some freakish efforts to justify the hype surrounding him.

Earlier in the week there was a lot of skepticism surrounding the selection of Te Maire Martin. Martin proved really solid, saving some tries on the line and reading the kick game well to help guide them over the dead-ball line. He certainly didn't look out of place at fullback and may prove to be a better player than Tesi.

Plenty of positives for the Broncos, but their opening 50 minutes can't be ignored either. They really need to show more energy because Cronulla aren't going to roll over like the Bulldogs did, especially not after coasting to 34 points and putting the cue in the rack against Manly.
