Saw the last 25 minutes.

Fegai bothers and Amone did very well.

Granted, the Bulldogs will get the spoon this season barring a footballing miracle.

They are probably 6-12 months away from starting.

All three have size, speed and strength.

Cannot see Williame playing first grade again.

Was particularly impressed by Matthew Fegai.

Good under the high ball.

The Molong marvel is lucky Matthew was injured today. He may well have retained the left wing spot against the Storm.
I’m sure the molong marvel would slot nicely in at fullback to cover duftys shit attitude. Did anyone else realise in the first half bulldogs spread it wide and dufty was standing at the play the ball with his f**king hands on his knees struggling to breathe??? He’s meant to sweeping up the back not at the ruck 30 metres away!!!

what do
I won't be surprised if the Storm decide to rest a few key players when teams are announced on Tuesday.

Bellamy is smart at knowing when to get some game time into the legs of those that will be needed when origin is around the corner.

Even at half strength they will be more than a match for us but that would also be true for most mid-table quality teams.
what do you think if we put bird tyrell and rava on our right next week to try and blunt the storms left side as i think with kerr there they will kill us with speed as paps love's that side as well.

The Molong marvel is yet to play the bulldogs though. He probably would have carved them up himself.

In looking for ways to be competitive on the scoreboard next game...as has been the story for most of the last 5 seasons, we need better support play and the occasional offload. Thought we had a bit of this during our winning streak yet it seems to have dissipated again. Must be an energy thing but the good teams do it consistently.

I thought yesterday was an improvement on the previous game against the Tigers. I was please with our new young-guns performance especially that of Max and Matt Feagai. To me the hype about these two kids is justified.

I'm sure Ramsey will get a run at fullback before too long. Dufty improved in some areas but still showed some bad signs in others He had a lot more touches in this game and score two tries but looked less dangerous than usual and let a try in with poor defence and also again was less than confident under the high ball dropping a bomb.

To me Kerr looks unimpressive as an edge forward; I rather see him in the prop rotation. Fui is a big surprise at centre, he played really well and was my best on field.

The Storm are a well drilled, very professional outfit and have plenty of depth with all their squad buying into the coach’s philosophy and style.

Regardless of who they pick they will have a very clear game plan to chip away at our weakness’s until the flood gates open.

If we try to strengthen the right they will attack it and the left as no doubt to try & strengthen something we will weaken something else due to the sheer fact we don’t have the same depth and we have a coach in his 1st year trying to undo 8 years of “no structure, no plan or philosophy”.

This time next year IMO would be very different.

I'll take the win yesterday and it was good to see the Fegai and Amone boys do well and get a taste of more 1st grade experience...BUT as a team we have a long way back to be serious contenders going forward ...whilst I must admit I got enthused (but never complacent) by our earlier performances against The Eels and the Knights I guess we have to realise we are still shaking off the cobwebs of the Mary years...put it this way if you would have told me last year that we would be in the top six on the ladder at this stage then that would have been more than acceptable.....the frustration I think for most on here is that we know we can be better but every now and then we slip into that shit we are making it hard for ourselves mentality by not doing the basic things right.....for mine the Norman/Hunt pairing will never be a successful combination, they just dont gel together and demand respect from opposition teams....obviously theres other issues across the park but thats the main one atm

We must incorporate more second phase play by doing more off loads and definitely backing up the man with the ball in our attacking moves. The Storm though are good at nullifying a lot of this stuff unfortunately but we have still got to do it and we will have to nullify their second phase plays as well and be forever alert with their fullback wherever he is on the field - he has got to be marked extremely closely.

Defence is the key together with minimal errors.

Fair call David, but i also think you’ve highlighted our paradox. Because we haven’t been playing second phase football or offloads and backing up, etc regularly over the past seven years we have not built the trust and execution in the combinations. As such, in developing this style there will be mistakes, they usually go hand in hand in developing a new skill, however, i’d rather they went for it and start building this style, particularly with the young group coming through.

Agree about the refereeing , more so in the first half . The whistle blower must had been on some form of protest and decided the less his blew the pea the stronger was his cause .

The Bulldogs were offside all bluudy day and the way they lay all over the Dragon players was absolutely reminiscent of the Storm in action .

Oh well , I suppose it was good practice for what we can expect from them this weekend .

A performance like we displayed against the Eels could do the trick. Let's hope the boys are up for such a performance.

Gareth67 that is how Ben Cummings is with the Dragons for many years now . He always refs us totally different to any opposition. Everyone saw what he does even the media knows. Nothing gets done he is a protected species.

Im happy for it to go back to how it was ..... This 6 again is ruining the game in my opinion ..... Half the time you don't know what the 6 again is for , Seems to be more injuries as the game gets faster , the DNA of players will change the players with a bit of Mungel will be phased out ..... Forwards will become faster leaner it will be like having backs as fowards ......

I thought it was funny how we got pinned for escort penalty from random when that happens every tine every game
Disagree with concerns re injuries, faster game and getting rid of mongrel
heading back to a normal balance of players whereas in recent years it was far outweighed by the bigger mongrel players you speak of.
Look how scarce good backs have become

I thought it also funny how by Round 9 the play the ball crack down no longer matters... again
