Jim Beam Cup:

Bloody points system held us back. That s no excuse as we were genuinely out played. I was impressed with the team in patches.

Drop Wissam El Masri. He did not play well. Put him on the bench. He tries to be fancy and does not work on fundamentals (like holding the ball). That was my big gripe. Also, the defence on the right hand side in that first half was very troubling. It was as though we had no one there.

VB Premier League:

Hung on by the skin of our teeth. Craig Field was more impressive than I saw him last year. A bit more confident he appeared and he wasn't afraid to kick.

I was very impressed with Phillip Leulaui and Thomas Gemmell. They hit hard and they hit well. Worked good as a pair.

Goalkicking was a problem. We missed 4. Tough kicks but still needs work. Alf also came close to giving me an early heart attack by chipping with 14 seconds left. He nearly undid his try a few minutes earlier.

Fitness seemed to be a problem. We started both halves well but then dropped off at the end of each stanza. It'll get better as the weather cools and as the players get used to the intensity again.

We'll have to lift to beat St George.

FINALLY

WHAT ABOUT THAT F---ING REF NOT PLAYING THE ADVANTAGE TO NEWTOWN AFTER THE HOLDING BACK. SIOELI WAS IN FOR SURE. SURPRISE SURPRISE I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THAT REF BEFORE.

It was Tony Del Las Heras after all. James Stosic was strong all day for me he keeps hitting it up.

No comment on the Ref. Tony De La does seem to have some "issues" with the Jets, or so it seems.

Impressed with the first 20 mins or so of the JBC, but then the Bulls got on top of the boys and really couldn't do much wrong.

As for the PL, I also think that fitness was a bit of an issue, however it is only the first round and they boys are only going to improve both in fitness and skills wise.
My MoM would have to be that war horse Billy Najjarin, I thought he didn't give up trying and his runs up the middle really caused some damage to the Knights.

Roll on the Dragons!
