My only change would be 1 bench spot.I feel Kenny and salmon makes our bench too small I would keep salmon and leave Kenny out as salmon is bigger and can cover more positions.Lindsay smith would be my preferred bench player I like 2 front rowers 1 back rower and 1 utility as my bench makeup.

I'd also only go with one of either Kenny or Salmon. I'd lean toward Salmon as he covers more positions. The other option is Smith, still a bit of versatility and a decent edge forward. If Leota is out I'd go with Eiesenhuth

I'm not worried about injuries. Rotating the spot for young guns is the go. Then Kenny takes the spot in September

With the HIA rules you have to have some way of covering the backline these days and Kenny doesn’t offer that and salmon can. He might not be a starting quality centre or half but he will do that job better than Kenny or one of our backrowers if someone goes down from the backline. Imo you need to have a utility or a genuine outside back on the bench these days.

I agree with smug, the 4th spot on the bench should be for a young gun.
A stable bench of Kenny (if he is the plan for next year)or Sos, Sorensen and lenui should remain with the 4th spot rotated through players like hopgood, May or Maverick.
Ivan’s rotation always has someone with limited minutes, we may as well use the spot to reward good form.
i get the backline injury concern but there is no perfect system. We do need to think about the loss of kikau next year, if we can develop a replacement we are better off long term.

With Salmon as the 14 and no Kenny you can use the last spot for a young gun like mav or whoever and still have better injury cover. Kenny will be able to play long minutes in reserve grade and hopefully work on some of the craftier things he’s not great at, we know he can defend well and provide decent service.

People saying we don't need a utility clearly need to watch more footy

Roosters
Canberra
Storm

have had backs go down

Kenny is only a hooker.

Teams are running smaller benches now. So size isn't the issue BUT if we want size then Kenny misses out

Which Smith?
