yep, you read that correctly, according to the smh the total deal is 9.3m over 5 years.

in fairness though he’s nearly made up all that money with advertising, rugbys been on the front page more since he signed than it has in the past 15 years.
I guess the problem for Union is that it's not going to turn the Wallabies declining ratings or attendances around, nor will it do that for the Waratahs, so although articles, promo pics etc is fantastic, it won't move the needle on the things that improve their financial situation.

I don’t care what anyone says, it’s seriously embarrassing for Rugby Union that JS can walk straight into the starting line up of their most elite professional representative team, without having ever played their game professionally.
It would be the equivalent of Carter Gordon lining up wearing 6 for the Kangaroos against Tonga this weekend. It’s absolute madness.
Imagine if you’re an up and coming, early 20’s centre in Union who’s stayed with that sport through development etc, just getting to be the best in your position, and then the ARU bring in someone external who’s never played the game to take your position. You’d be fuming.

Usually when they have the team line up it says what club they play for, will it say Sydney Roosters lol

Australian rugby needs all the help it can get. Normally when you use that expression it implies they need all the help they can get 'to be a contender', but in this case it should be interpreted to mean 'to keep afloat'. They're truly f**ked. Is Joseph Suaalii really 'the guy' to save Australian rugby? I really can't see it.

But if he does ... seriously, he would have to go down in the annals of Australian sporting history (without wanting to take anything away from @SLRBRONCOS achievements) for saving the sport? Regardless of anybody's opinion on his playing ability, it's difficult to argue that he isn't physically capable of doing it. He is a fantastic athlete ... tall, fast, agile and built well enough to handle things defensively.

He's only 21 years old and he's played with a team of genuine contenders and good coaching for a few years now, and got (IMO) an undeserved origin selection and subsequent failure. In a code with even stricter 'tackle' interpretations it's going to be difficult. Let's see how he goes....

Hang on a minute.

I'll probably just read about his success or failure in the paper and if he blitzes it I might watch some highlights? But he ain't saving rugby union by himself. Even if the Wallabies are going well it's a boring sport to watch, and has been for quite some time now. Great game to play, especially years ago but always has been an inferior game to watch and the gap keeps getting wider on that.

I mean that’s a fairly basic jumping tap-back off a kick. No?
In an NRL Game it would barely make the highlights reel, in Union its like he has invented the wheel, why do you think every coaching box is full of league players? I coached junior Rugny league for 5 years around 10 years ago, stuff Union players do now such as angles of running etc where the crowd orgasm over, 14 year old kids do it in League on a sunday morning in a park and its basic stuff.
