I would go so far as to say, no player would even be farting in the direction of them, without such guarantees.

They are starting with 6 teams ( was supposed to be 8 but they obviously don't have the money for 8 teams ) and then going to 12 teams from season 2

That's roughly 300 players they'll need.

There's about 6 elite union/league competitions in the world, so each of those comps will lose about 50 of its best players.
