This weekend - Wales

They really took it to the AB's last match. It was the best test of the weekend.

This will he harder for the Aussies than the previous tests.

It was a good match. At crucial times Lewis came into play - two very questionable penalties in the last 5 minutes ruined any chance of an Aussie comeback.

Our backs were just too scrappy for most of the match.

that was a great game of rugby last night between wales and oz man . i hopw wales improve because they look like they have some good young players there . the fullback and the number 8 are both good .

Didn't see AB's vs England.

Only on Setana - no normal tele or even Fox.

Pretty frustrating game to be honest. Plenty of effort from ther Poms but shot themselves in the foot by constantly fouling, resulting in 4(!) yellow cards, NZ coasted until just after half time as they've been doing all tour then put the cleaners through them in the second spell.

Wales vs Aus was much more entertaining, good to see the Welsh get a result as I though they werre very enterprising for no reward against us.

Oh and has anyone won a grand slam without conceding a try before?

Wales v Aus was great and good to see northern hemisphere win for a change. Australia were arguably imo the worst performing of the tri-nations teams. They were the only team to lose a match and only just beat italy who were missing one of their best forwards and a dubious try got them out of jail. They also just beat england whereas SA and NZ creamed them.

IMO the Aussies need Mortlock fit and firing to win...they tend to rely heavily on him in their attacking moves and need to start having confidence in the likes of Cross to give them any chance of beating teams through multi dimensional attacking formation.

The front row needs a lot of work and the question that needs to be asked is how long Deans can perservere with Waugh and Smith before he looks at blooding new loosies.

The backline is a bigger concern - seems disjointed. Persevering with Burgess is starting to become annoying for a start.

We do need a Waugh/Smith replacement - but for now they are still doing the job very well. Pocock & Horwill will fit into the side. Sharpe is playing as strong as ever, of course we miss Elsom though. It we leave the front row as is they will only get better and better. Seems it's more about earning the referees respect than anything else for the front row right now. Lewis was at his penalise-from-the-blindside-of-the-scrum best again in the last test.

Beale, Horne & Lachie Turner all deserve a go in the backs as well - so things look OK, just need to get the combinations right. Tahu, Barnes & Mackay are hunting for a spot as well.

Things look good.

Did you see the clash that took Mortlock & Roberts out? Mortlock looked to be KO'd and Roberts suffered a fractured skull.
