Soccernet.com said:
LISBON, May 4 (Reuters) - Sporting's international defender Rui Jorge has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for an anti-allergy medicine, Portuguese Soccer Federation officials have said.

Now he faces 6 months for testing positive, Rio got 8 and was negative.

What's the bet that he wins the hearing and gets off scott-free?

Although to be honest, reading the story he probably should. But Rio should've got a much lesser penalty also.

Both players have technically broken the rules. But both players didn't really do anything seriously wrong. One didn't declare an otherwise legal drug, one forgot to take the test but the situation showed that he didn't take anything (the FA has stated that they knew Rio was clean).

The difference? One had the misfortune of being a Man Utd player while Blatter was looking for a way to make himself feel important.

no.

Rio didn't show to his test which is the same as testing positive. he created an unnecessary fracas that was so easily avoidable. all he had to do was get the test done. to make matter worse he pleaded guilty, but then appealed (which doesn't make sense). the whole saga went on and on, costing the FA a lot of money. Rio got what he deserved.

Rui Jorge case is under entirely different circumstances.

He pleaded guilty to missing the test, which he obviously did. The appeal was against the length of the punishment. Yes, he should've been punished, but no more than 3 months or so. Getting more than players who have tested positive is a joke.

Technically, missing the test is same as test positive. But when the player then does everything in his power to prove that he didn't take drugs (taking the test too soon for performance-enhancing drugs to leave the system and wanting to take a hair test to proove their were no 'party' drugs), that should be taken into consideration.

Technically, Rui Jorge tested positive for a banned drug.
