Knights brought Brown to assist Ponga. He won't be able to break his contract until it expires end of 2027.
There's more of a chance of Joey Manu coming over next year as he only signed a 1-year deal in Japan.

Gees Manu would be a great pick up wouldn't he... almost as good a pick up as KP would be. Obviously an elite center but as good, if not better, at 1 and able to cover 6 at a pinch too.

Last reports were he was committed to rugby though, with France being his likely next destination before returning home for an SR stint and making a run at the test team.

Which makes a mockery of Buzz and a few other journos who last year kept insisting he'd be back in Sydney by the middle of this year. In all their towering arrogance they could not comprehend any other outcome except Joey hating rugby and running back to the NRL at the earliest opportunity. Wankers.

Those journos are such arrogant SOBs. I love that they can’t get a read on everything happening behind the scenes. Every so-called "leak" has been intentional, done to maximize market value and ensure these guys get the best possible deals in the ESL. Under the Cameron George era, all the big moves and signings have come out of nowhere, with these vultures completely blindsided.

As for Joseph Manu, if he does go ahead and sign with NZ Rugby and Super Rugby, what a waste of talent lol.

I still dream it’s Manu, just like others dream of Ponga. Honestly, I’d take either, and we’d still have Taine as a solid backup or even a half, another player too good to let go.

Imagine though. Imagine is the Knights signed Brown to keep Ponga and lost Ponga, but now had Brown for 10 years
Yeah well that's a red hot chance and I thought that at the time. For Brown to be successful they need someone with Ponga's playmaking brilliance. If he goes, and the spine is Sharp Brown Crossland and someone else, that's a complete dud.

I don't think Newy signed Brown to keep Ponga though? Are they great mates? Gee, theyd want to give Brown some playmaking support because he's shown very little without Moses (or Hughes)

That was just a part of the conversation at the time. I don't know if it's true or not and I'm not sure anyone does, right? Of course, there's been speculation that Ponga was unhappy with signing Brown. I don't know

Unless Newcastle agrees to release him, how could Ponga join the Warriors without breaking his contract? The NRL wouldn’t allow it, and there’s no way the Knights would let him go.
He can’t play the compassionate card either, his family is in Queensland, not New Zealand.
