Rumour on Big Sports Breakfast.

Was listening to the Big Sports Breakfast on 2KY this morning at approximately 5.50am. A caller rang and said the following.

a. Jamie Lyon definitely left because of BS
b. Nathan Hindmarsh is the next
c. BS will definitely NOT be at Parra next year. He claimed this would be confirmed at the end of the year, with BS saying for "family reasons" he cannot coach any more.
d. BS tried to make John Morris play lock or second row against the cowboys. When John Morris said he was not a lock or second rower, BS put him on the bench. Apparently Nathan Cayless, at halftime had a blow up with BS, and insisted that John Morris go into the game.

I do not know how much truth there is in these rumours, but the caller seemed adamant that they were factual. All it does is confirm that our club is divided, and for the good of the club, i hope this is resolved NOW.
If BS is going to go, go NOW. If not, let the board come out and commit to him for the remainder of his contract. I would say we are going to lose more players, and find it difficult to attract new ones.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I listen to the station religously but must of missed that call, however I'm damned if I'll be waiting for 2007 before we get some stability at the club, for the good of the club we need a decision now! and I dare say from people I've spoken to that JT shouldn't be the one.

Whats the good of Smith announcing his retirement at the END of the year - when all the player negs are finalised well before then?

Scenario - Hindy wants to go because of Smith. Raiders come up with a decednt offer, off he goes, because he is sick of Smith. Then SMith resigns. Does anyone else see the ironic tragety in this?

Well, I haven't seen a runmour that Brian Smith's contract will be extended, or that Ian Hindmarsh is pleading to return, or that Daniel Wagon is going to become test 5/8!

Well we can only hope its true

Me thinks the problems are deep routed now, so why wait till more damage is done.

Surely he can see from his ivory tower that there are problems in paradise.

If the rumours are true this is what the club should do:
1. Ask Smith to step aside for the rest of the year.

2. Make Jason Taylor head coach for the rest of the year. It would allow the club to evaluate him, see how the players respond and if he is the answer. Another quality coach isn't going to become available until the end of the year anyway.

IF Smith stays then Hindmarsh would have my blessings (not that that means anything  ) to sit out the season with Jamie Lyon and come back when we have a new coach. Also if Hindmarsh sat out the season that would surely send some red flags that not even Fitzy could fail to notice.

I think it is taken as a given that Smith will step aside next year.
From the rumours mentioned Hindy supposedly doesn't like playing under BS, yet BS will more than likely be going next year :?: :?: :?:

If there are rumours circulating, surely the players will know what going on.

Hindy will probably have a better idea what's going on that we will.

Apparently Nathan Cayless, at halftime had a blow up with BS, and insisted that John Morris go into the game.

Morris was already on the field, he came on after about 30 minutes, so I dont see how Cayless could blow up and demand he be go into the game when he was already in it.

Before you all start to pick the ?$%^% out of the rumours, remember this.

I WAS JUST REPEATING WHAT WAS SAID ON 2KY. IF YOU DONT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT RUMOURS, BURY YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND, AND DONT READ THE FORUMS. IT DOES NOT HURT ME ONE BIT. I WAS JUST TRYING TO GIVE A HEADS UP TO THOSE READERS WHO MAY HAVE NOT HEARD. I AM NOT AUTHENTICATING OR REFUTING THE RUMOURS.

Not having a go at you.

The thing with rumours is, that you need to remember that alot of people in the media really dislike Brian Smith and/or Denis Fitzgerald, have done for years.

They've got the smell of blood now, this is their chance to either nail smith, get at fitzgerald through Smith or get both of them. And taking a lot of rumours with a grain of salt isnt about having a head buried in sand, its about being discerning, and knowing how these things start.

Too many rumours are spread on here to even take notice of them.

I'll start one now. By round 13 Foi Foi Moi Moi will be playing halfback, for defensive reasons.

INteresting. Coaches usually say this as the first defence when there is real smoke starting to emerge about their position.

The next 6 weeks (to June 30) are going to be interesting indeed. If Brian is to go, we will find out before then.

If Hindmarsh leaves then I wont be a True Supporter that I have been for 17 Years. I will still support parramatay but wont really find much interest in the team. He is the only one that tries.

I'd be gutted if he left, but hey, players come and go and the club remains.

The only rumour there that I like is no.1. Our club is a joke if any of them are true though. The media love to bash Brian Smith so obviously these rumours are far from factual but all the same it seems clear that the players, star players are unhappy and the coach is responsible.
