The bonus of taking the job is that you sign a contract, start work, then 6 months later they tell you that you're getting paid less than originally agreed.

My advice to the person who gets the job is - make sure the contract has the agreed salary, sign it, make sure an Eels board member counter-signs it, and personally walk up to HR and hand it over.

THE signings of Zac Guildford and Matt Carraro by NSW have thwarted a stunning code switch by Parramatta Eels fullback Reece Robinson.
We can reveal that Robinson was in the Waratahs’ sights, and he held meetings with NSW coach Daryl Gibson, but Gibson has managed to convince former All Black Guildford to honour his deal with the Sydney club, while also getting utility Carraro to re-sign.
That left no room for Robinson, who played schoolboy rugby and has been intrigued by a switch to union for a couple of years.

What did we pay morgan? If its under 140k than great signing.
Guys like Lussick and Hoppa effect the team.There paid 3 x what you could get a player who could do a very similar job.
I have done this before with no replies. Name 8 better back up centres for next season playing in NSW or QLD cup. Cause that is was his role is. He can play first grade if need be -Rarely gets injured and is solid in defense. He is now reaching his peak years so although it may not be GREAT - your about too see the best of Morgan.
He is what he is - A solid back up who does a good enough job if called upon.And I would say being paid accordingly.
Jut be happy we dodged a bullet with Johnston - Another pick from HINDY111
Johnston = Younger Robinson.
New kids on the block get a lot of hype. A lot of the times you have older player who are better.
Look at Penrith with Simmonds-Never let the team down and when replaced by Waqa like all the fans wanted showed the reliable Simmonds was a better option.

Morgan will be fighting it out for his spot with Falou - Toutai at this stage and maybe Davis. Taka gets another spot and Hoppa looks like he will leave. If Taka goes down we could be thin on centres thou!

All you people complaining about Morgan being re-signed, look on the bright side. It won't be long now until we get salary cap relief for his spot when he qualifies for the long serving player allowance/exemption!

At this stage Morgan is not a backup centre. We only have 1 decent centre (Taka) signed up for next year meaning Morgan will be first choice too.

No one answered your question because no one could be bothered writing the names of every winger centre and half the back rowers in NYC and QLD cup

We don't get any extra cap relief unless Morgs is the only player eligible for the LTP (and he's not). He does provide 'insurance' in that regard though. The LTP discount is a fixed amount per club, and as long as you have at least 1 eligible player whose salary exceeds the discount, you get the full discount, but no more. We have Mannah, and Morgs would be eligible too.

In that case I see no option other than to release Mannah.

No. That spot should be open for competition. The merkin who does best in the toughest pre-season ever should get the gig.
