Yes, and recognising the selection bias is what got Jimmy the Greek in a lot of trouble in the US.

I got permanently banned from another site for pointing out that Europeans and Americans of West African descent were over-represented as Olympic medal winners, especially compared to West Africans of West African descent.

This site was mostly Americans, by the way. Some things you just can't talk about.
