For me, it's because he's big, strong and will no doubt have lost some speed and/or agility due to his knee injuries. I think he will strengthen our pack.

Because he is bigger the most of our forwards and I believe he was actually a second rower in the juniors but could also play centre

It's hard to argue with.

He tackles just fine when merkins run straight at him, as is more likely when defending closer to centrefield. His defensive weakness becomes more apparent out wide when merkins have more room to beat him with footwork or speed.
