What I heard is they negotiated a incentive based deal if he could play FB.
Dogs went all in at FB. He will go there

I like your idea of going after braidon Burns, hopefully Burton decides quickly so we have a shot at someone decent.
May just re-signed for 2021, but I suppose you could take a shot at him for 2022. He has the potential to be a starting half, but not here.
I agree with that. No room at the Inn!
I wouldn’t use him as a starting half, but as a starting centre, despite the gf thing ( he’s not a dirty player) he’s an accomplished defender. Probably good for danger periods if you get the lead.
He’s signed up but so was Issac Luke etc, it depends on the stars, how your silk strike centres go and maybe if they can lift defensively. He could be excess to requirements, swaps etc.
But yeah, I’m surprised I didn’t hear of a lot more interest in him. He’s had a willing season and it’s great having elites but you need your foot soldiers to march on and lift. He did that much. I was impressed. He’s pretty solid.
For as long as I've been watching Burton he's been a left side player. Left foot step, left foot kicker. When he came on to play centre against the Dogs he played left centre. He heavily prefers kicking to the left corner and doesn't really kick to the right that much. Has anyone ever seen him play a position on the right side?
I have a feeling he felt he owed the Panthers after they stuck by him, hence the one year deal. I wouldn’t use him as a centre, though. Too slow. All the best games he played for us were in the middle of the field.

Panthers jumpy over Crichton

Penrith young gun Stephen Crichton allegedly shook hands and looked coach Ivan Cleary in the eyes four months ago, vowing to honour a three year deal he had agreed to with Penrith at the time. The Panthers did Crichton a favour and agreed to hold off on rubber-stamping the deal so the centre could part ways with his manager Mark Stewart at the end of October.
A new agent is about to enter the picture and there are people at Penrith increasingly concerned that Crichton may go back on his word. Since agreeing to terms with Penrith on a deal worth $1.5 million over three years, Crichton has landed a spot in the Dally M team of the year and also a spot in Fittler's 27-man NSW squad. Canterbury are ready to pounce. There's no doubt Crichton is worth more than he was four months ago, but Penrith hope his word is worth more.
Half a mill a year for an outside back seems pretty fair to me. The Bulldogs reek of desperation.

Stepping needs to be instinctive to be effective. If you're left foot step is instinctive and what you're more comfortable with and you have to think to step off your right foot that means you're going to be more effective on the left. That’s definitely an issue with trying to play right centre.
kicking goes out the window somewhat when you’re out in the centres, though.
The lack of announcements has me concerned. They really do just link Dogs to everyone

No place in that story does it mention the new manager .It is a story quoting no one.Penrith and Crichton will sign the new deal as agreededhttps://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/wh...th-fittler-and-nsw-blues-20201101-p56ah3.html

Agreed. From what I have read about this bloke and his family, It points to going back on a handshake deal would be totally opposite to their values and integrity. Was the club not relying on the family's integrity based on their faith, that the agreement would be honoured? Let's hope it comes through.
