As of late last year he still was.
With rising interest rates he probably needed the pay rise Real estate on the north shore doesn’t come cheap.

Average price for a home in Balgowlah around the $3 million mark, apartment not being any near waterfront views $1.3 million and that’s probably a one bedder.

I think our coach still retains his main dwelling in the same area, although perhaps he can afford waterfront views.

Story in today's Telecrap.
A brief recap.
Panthers urging Spencer to stay. Last roll of the dice from us.
Mentions Dogs and Dragons as other suitors.
The Eeks expressed interest but were turned off by the high price.
That in itself should be a warning of how this is going.
A few qoutes from Yeo and Brandy.
Spencer's decision expected in the next few weeks.

Very sensible.

I suppose it will come down to how much playing with many of your boyhood mates, in a club that represents your local community and culture is worth. That and the prospect of more trophys and rep honours too.

He knocked back more last time to stay. The club is hoping he will do so again. This club and his mates mean a lot to him. Crichton is going but he is tight with other boys.

It will be hard a offer to turn down elsewhere though.
The grass isn't always greener. He might be behind Fish and Leota but he has two very good middles to continue to learn off. Won't get that elsewhere.
The club have presented a plan to get the best out of him and up his minutes.

This is my view.

Luke Rooney and Willie Tonga were Australia's first choice left side combo in 2004.

Nether made it to two hundred NRL games.

Tonga did if you count ESL. I always thought he never reached his true potential.
That is the thing you have to weigh up. Plenty of players at the end of their careers wonder if they reached their full potential with the paths they took.
Decisions can make and break careers.

Rooney just fell off a cliff.
