While Ryles and O'Meley are contemplating their futures, Brisbane yesterday threw another prop - former New Zealand international Andrew Lomu - a lifeline.
Lomu was released by Canberra after sustaining a neck injury at the end of last year but was given the thumbs-up by Brisbane after staff reviewed his medical records.
The Broncos snaffled the Kiwi Test prop as cover for the injured Corey Parker, who will miss several weeks with a dislocated wrist. "He wants to keep playing," Brisbane chief executive Bruno Cullen said.
"We have the medical records from Canberra and both our physio and doctor ran through them. They're both confident he can do everything."
