Mansour was only just out of under 20's when he left. He would get a spot in front of Tuquiri any bloddy day. Tuquiri is awful and should never play first grade again.

I think you will find Souths still have close to the highest number of local juniors in their club.

Sutton
Merritt
Champion
Reynolds
Walker

so 5 local juniors is top in the NRL? Woah

Eels local Juniors

Hayne
Morgan
Mannah
Lasalo
Loko
Junior Paulo
Sio
Tanginoa
Pitchard

Semi? Even though he was born in Fiji he never played for a junior club over there and debuted as an Under 20's for Eels.

Souths junior count is nothing great, actually down on where it was for the past few years

Ironic that when we had more juniors we were at the bottom of the ladder, but as soon as you bring in the professional approach success usually follows?

Need to take a leaf from the Roosters and Bulldogs' books, they've made the Grand Final combined 7 times in the last 14 years and are always active in the player market.

It's impossible to field a team of juniors and still be competitive, the talent available just isn't that deep and not diverse enough in positions. We've had a lot of great juniors come up in the hooker position, some in the halves, a couple in the backs but almost no quality juniors in the forwards for example. So you need to recruit

I just had a look and Souths have 8 local juniors in their 25 man squad. That's not a bad amount. Plus Turner and Keery were brought down as kids.

Maybe you should look at every other clubs local juniors before making such pronouncements.
