Penrith have confirmed that Kingston will stay on just now on Twitter.

It is OK. The new retention committee that was setup have decided that not all the twelve players need to go.
Who is on that committee???? Nolan apparently isn't

Does anything this club do makes sense anymore??

Well once upon a time things this club did made sense, but pretty much B Smith walked out the door so did the common sense of the club as well.

You're right...things certainly made a lot more sense in the Smith era. I guess we had a fair bi t of weirdness between about 88 and 98.

I am sure there are more but three things that didn't make sense to me while Smith was here;

1. Letting John Simon go to the Warriors

2. Signing Michael Witt to a five year deal and letting him go after one

And

3. Leaving Jason Taylor on the field as long as he did in the 2001 grand final.

4. A player who couldnt pass the ball consistently playing five-eighth

5. Consistently starting two interchange specialists Solomona and Widders at the same time in a time when I think it was still unlimited interchange

6. Sending Feleti Meteo to the London Broncos

Yes quite a few of the 12 have really impressed me over the last month or so.

I didn't say everything we did back then made sense, but compared to the goings on of the last 5 years or so

And yet we won more games than we lost......
The clubs whole set up was the envy of the League, i remember in 05 even when we bombed out we made the GF in both the other grades and Freddie Fittler gave the club a massive wrap and said our clubs set up was second to none.. Now we are the laughing stock of the League.

Yeh. Smith was far from perfect, and he could rub people up the wrong way pretty easily. But, I could approach each weekend thinking my team had a decent chance. That has become a rarer experience since (2009 was fun in the end, but the 1st half of the season was like coming back from the loo's, taking a sip from your beer, and discovering that your mate has puked in it.....or did that actually happen?).

Yeah but 29-0 was also the laughing stock of the league, especially after 24-0 down at halftime in a grand final, and losing after leading 18-0 with ten minutes to go in a preliminary final.

Just because we were strong doesn't mean we weren't a f**king joke. The problem with this club has always been leadership.

If we were a laughing stock back then i'd hate to think what we are now.

Mate, I'd happily take that at the moment...it would mean that we'd been in the hunt for most of the season......and I had to drive back from a wedding in Scone with a Bulldogs fan while the Paul Carrige implosion was happening.

So you'd rather go back to that than go through this pain for a chance at a real culture change in the club?

It looks like Sticky has identified our need for leadership, where no previous coach did.
