Most of the time I’d be like “classic Knights thing to do” but this definitely isn’t something we’d do.

I hope someone from the club comes out and absolutely gives it to Robbo for lying here.
Let's see what the Knights have to say about this matter.

Ah good. Sounds like negotiations are going swimmingly then. God imagine if we fluff this one.
I reckon they might be going ok if the Roosters are under this much pressure.

I think it will be done by the end of the week, good result for us. Roosters will spin it as though they have done the right thing by Dom.

Rothfield’s explanation of the Dom situation:

- He’s owed $200k for the rest of this season and then $500k per year in 2026 and 2027
- Knights want the Roosters to cover that $200k in exchange for him being off their books completely from next year
- Knights would then front load him an additional $200k this year so they’d then be paying $400k per year in 2026 and 2027

No idea what Robbo is whinging about then. That sounds completely reasonable and if anything we’d be over paying him.

That’s quite different to the supposed $250K that the Roosters were apparently willing to pay per year to have him off the books. This is a better deal for them.

I don’t think Robbo is telling the whole truth. The Roosters are usually on the front foot with trying to control the narrative so I think that’s what we’re seeing them try to do here.

On a side note, if it’s looking like we’ll lose KPP for next year, do we consider signing Bryce Cartwright? He’s not wanted at the Eels but he’s been a good consistent first grader over the last few years and he’s got a good skill set. I don’t think he’d be expensive either.

We’re looking pretty skinny in the back row next year if KPP leaves so we should be on the lookout.

I think we are relying on Tom Cant to develop, though I think they want him in the 13. And McEwan. The whole pack looks very bare next year.

We do not.

We have Ponga, Brown and Fletcher who are bacially better and less injury prone versions of Pezet. We need something different. A leader, someone barking orders on the field, someone with a good long kicking game.
