I wonder if the club is focussed on a youth policy totally and going with the up and comers to meet our needs in 2026.

Maybe Jim and Ryles have so little faith in our R&R team that they would rather get wooden spoons then let the Tigers secret plants (MON and Rogers) recruit anyone.

why would someone who would have the power to dismantle and restructure the R&R team just shrug his shoulders and say let’s go with a 100% youth and pathways policy to reload our top 30 squad?

So with lack of new signings extensions of existing players what do you think is causing the issues

are we not approaching players or player managers?
are the asking prices out of our range and we not interested in many?
We are painful to deal with in negotiations so deals fall through
We are on a pause in recruiting?
We are getting screwed over by other clubs who are essentially rorting the caps through payments by other avenues which we can’t or won’t do?

would be interested if anyone had an idea of where the issues lie rather than just saying we are useless
mon and the recruitment team should of been rsoled with arthur

its funny, i thought the same thing about dylan, 6 years of POs

i thought he was already on the gravy train lol
POs have value to the player but if the amount of the option is less than the player can get on the open market, they're probably not going to activate them.

With the new clubs coming in, player salaries are expected to make a big jump. Any off contract player will be holding off on re-signing too cheaply. And if they want overs then where's the benefit in keeping them?

Pandas aren't coming till 2027 and I cant see too many NRL players wanting to live in a compound that may not even be built by 2027, some reports are now saying the Hunters wont be ready in the Hunters forum.

I think there is uncentainty over whats going to happen in PNG as it was a political decision and left to the various communities to action everything. I think the idea is the Hunters will mostly, if not all from PNG with some staff from the NRL.

There is an increase in salaries coming but it applies to everyone so I dont see any single clubs benefiting from that. Pandas will probabaly have to pay overs to get players to relocate.

The new teams may have some affect on some players waiting for a better payday but I dont think it will have too much affect.

The new teams will have a massive effect on salaries, and players negotiating now will be making decisions about 2027. And if you don’t think any youngsters will be willing to spend a couple of years in PNG for a life changing pay day, you don’t know people. I’ve known plenty of merkins who chased big money in third world hell holes a lot further away than PNG.

Some people will do anything to avoid hearing about LBAs, sample sizes, resources and POs

I heard Dylan thinks kicking to the corners and building pressure is a boring game plan. Not sure the context but he’s gunna get a bit of a shock next year if that’s the case. Joey John’s will be turning in his grave.
