If the SMH report today is true and Lomax told Parra he would come back after R360 fell over, IMO without knowing any other evidence, I cant see how its not RoT to uphold the condition of his release.
That’s not what I read. Reports said he told us he was done with league and by the sounds of it came back to us only recently after we signed Brian Kelly and after he already had contract with Scum.

Yes if immediately after R360 was a no, we flat out told him to get f**ked then that’s effectively permission to go elsewhere and to try to deny that to him would be restraint.

We’ll see next week

Was it adequate? It was a shithole. And without the charm of inner suburban stadiums like Leichhardt.
And they are turning it into a shopping mall and residences as well aren’t they?

To create a cradle to grave smug existence.

An attempt to meddle with the local DNA gene pool and interfere with the natural tendencies of near locals like me to devolve and follow a more f**ked up side.

Perverted science.

It’s a human right to reject success.

He never had a Contract with ARU.

I dont think enough is being made of the reports of Lomax asking to come back to Eels. If he did, and Parra said get stuffed, I think its a pretty clear case of RoT.
Actually going back to this, us telling him to get stuffed probably isn’t clear case unenforceable restraint (I say probably because it’s a fairly unique case), there’s at least one other major factor the court will have to determine. I’m not going to put it out into ether because I haven’t really seen it mentioned too much in media or anywhere, and I’d hate to manifest destiny.

Is it really casual to go out and sit in a stadium to watch two teams you don't like? I remember going to the 2004 grand final. What a shit day. I haven't been to another grand final since that one.
Not about not liking or hating, even if that 1m is real, it’ll be made up of a metric shit tonne of Melbournites and suburban Victorians who have a passing interest in sport and Scum have become “their team” purely because they are in Melbourne as well.
In fact going back to the original survey, if they’re are 1m Scum fans, 20000 seems very light for that support. I reckon most of them when things get tight, they’re more likely to put their money to their AFL team.

No doubt. But it still represents growth. How many Sydney NRL fans would say they support the Swans or the Giants? I assume most want to see them fail.

He didn't come back to the Eels he was already talking to the Storm. Which is in the court docs

Also means diddly if the contract says he doesn't want to play rugby league anymore and wants to try his hand at another sport / Onion.

Tigers have been getting shafted by player agents for 10 years and two of the more disgraceful examples have involved Parramatta. The general consensus here about that ( which I understand tbf) is that Tigers fans should suck it up. Im not going to lose much sleep if this doesnt work out for Parra.

Whether as a league supporter I should agree with you, in legal matters it has very little to do with whether I like something or not, its based on clear principles and stare decisis. None of us here know all the factors in this case and I can only make a rough judgement and agree with what we know. If the SMH report today is true and Lomax told Parra he would come back after R360 fell over, IMO without knowing any other evidence, I cant see how its not RoT to uphold the condition of his release.
It all depends on the terms of release agreement. Was it a blanket "we hold your rights to play in the NRL till the end of the contract"? It's not RoT if the agreement didn't have provisions for him to change his mind and come back. If it was a blanket agreement regarding his ability to play in the NRL - it's up to the club to determine that takes places.

Sometimes going for a team well over due to win is easy also. As for the new stadium, I guess no one will ever know why Parra got one. Some sort of new central Sydney they say, what about success. How many years between drinks is it now?

None of what you say contradicts anything I said.

Thanks for coming.

The Giants really are struggling in NRL heartland, from what I read. The AFL has to give out freebies to school kids to get a crowd of about 5K or 6K. They can't continue to do that forever.

The Giants will never ever be a sporting powerhouse in Western Sydney.

Especially now the NRL has sorted its shit out.

Penrith's dynasty & success has basically killed off any chance the AFL had west of Blacktown.

Bulldogs have awoken the sleeping giant again with there moronic fanbase now out in droves.

If the Tigers ever get there shit together which is unlikely they have a hidden fanbase out there. Its sort of why i am happy for them to keep falling over in the dark they could rival us with number of supporters.

Both prelims they played under Sheens/Benji in 05 & 10 attracted record crowds just shy of our 09 game.

If the Tigers made the semis now they would pack out Allianz & Accor with so many bandwagoners especially those who haven't seen them play in a semi final yet.
