I'll be honest, I'd punt French for Tedesco.

I wouldn't. French is going to be a gun, and Teddy is going to be asking squillions and has two serious knee injuries in the bank at 24 years old.

That's not to say French is a better player than Teddy or that I wouldn't want him by any means....but I wouldn't be punting French for him.

I wouldn't punt French for Tedesco, given the costs involved for Tedesco. My argument was that if you bought Tedesco then there is better options for the wing than French.

Bevan is 21 now and I have often wondered how he will end up. Will his frame fill out ? Inglis certainly did. Or will he remain a lightweight player. Size is not a determining factor in being a great fullback in the modern game, refer Slater & Coote.

So I'm wondering merkins what sort of a player will French be at age 26 ? A Nathan Blacklock try scoring machine that tackles like my mum or will he rise to an elite of our game ?

French has the potential to be a very good play maker so doubt he will end up on the wing permanently.

He may play a few years at fullback before moving into the halves. Reckon he could make a good half, if he could develop a long kicking game (which he may have).

He has gone ok at fullback, good positioning and defence hasnt been to bad. Just rucking it out isn't the best. BA seems to be taking the pressure of rucking it out off him.

But he is still a rookie without a full year of NRL so has plenty of time on his side.

Interestingly clubs have elected to kick to Semi rather than Bev. So they must be very wary of him with space even though he's a lightweight.

Then why did you say you'd punt French for Tedesco.....in those exact words?

That 'taking the pressure of rucking it out' is enormously effecting the way we bring the ball back. Essentially teams are just kicking it to French, because they know he will then pass the ball, giving opponents probably a further second or more on their kick chase.

He'll get in the gym and put on weight. He only needs about 5kg to be Slaters weight. He's already filled out a lot in twelve months.

Wasn't he asking for 600k last year? Maybe he on that this year.

had a 400k offer taken off the table by the dragons, went to panthers supposedly on 2nd tier. i asked gus on twitter before he blocked me how his signing was possible when weeks before gus said "our cap for next season is full" and he said something along the lines of don't believe what you read re his price tag. ie gus is FOS
