I dare say, that would be one of your best road trips ever?

Of the past few years yes. Due to travelling commitments for my daughter and her equestrian pursuits I haven't made many games in the past few years. Any I have made other than that game and the end of season run in 2009 have seen us in the wrong side of the ledger. Makes for a f**king long drive.

Des Hasler facing the axe at Canterbury Bulldogs

I am hearing that elements within the Bulldogs football and leagues clubs boards are set to push to pay Hasler out if the Bulldogs fail to make the finals.

Sources say although Hasler signed a massive deal, his payour is capped at around $500,000 a season, making it feasible for the Dogs to pay him out.

If he does go, the club will push for former favourite son Dean Pay to take over as head coach.

Pay has served a long apprenticeship and is currently Ricky Stuart’s right-hand man at Canberra.

Canterbury have lost six of their last seven games and are playing with little confidence or cohesion in attack, putting their finals chances in real doubt.

The board is under massive pressure from irate fans, who are demanding changes be made at the club.

Dean Pay??? Massive risk I'd reckon.... maybe he'll turn out to be a better head coach than he is a defensive coach because he's a hopeless joke on that front from what I can tell. Whoever it is that takes over if Des gets punted early are probably walking in to a cluster f**k with regard to player contracts and backended deals if the rumours are true.

Yeah surely they can do better than Dean Pay. Rumours are that he does more coaching than Ricky in Canberra wouldn't surprise me knowing Ricky. Foran and Woods wants to join a stable club lol.

I want it to happen just to watch the resulting Foran circus. Imagine if Des got the arse and then so did SK and then Des went to the Warriors!
Ahhhh.... I'm just daydreaming.

I just can't see Des being turfed after he has attracted Foran and Woods. Surely they'll give him a chance to work with the new look squad before severing a contract and paying him out? Maybe if they were to start season 2018 with 8 losses from their first 10 matches or something like that, then yeah, maybe they'll pull the trigger then...

This will be the interesting thing. Foran has obviously wanted to play Under Des for some time. If he should get the arse - I still can't understand how he got an extension other than the fact he signed Foran and Woods - I wonder how long before mental health issues rear their head again.

Please be true, the Dogs signing a complete Nuffy like Pay for them still to struggle lol.

IIRC Pay was a pretty promising lower grades coach. He's just a bog ordinary defensive coach. And even in that regard, he's had a lot of shit defenders to work with over his time at Parra and the Raiders so I'm not sure it can be put entirely down to Pay....
