ABC just said that Hayne is getting $2.4m over 2 years. Our offer was $2.4m over 3 years.

Those offers are ridiculously far apart. Not suss in the slightest. Administration is really working out for us.

Just a quick note to everyone manning the doomsday alarms...

We've already proven that we can play and win without Hayne. He was not a must have signing, he was a nice to have.

Does it sucks that he went back on his word to sign with the Titans, sure it does, can you blame him? No.

Think of it this way, we now have shitloads of money we can spend getting our team right, that's a big positive for us.

Just because we didn't get Hayne does not mean that we are screwed. We still have a good team, and now on top of having a good team we also have money to build it up further.

All that being said, I'm also not saying don't hate on Jarryd either, if you wanna hate on him, feel free, it's warranted, but don't tie the clubs future to him.

With all this money we have, who is available to sign? And if we got them how would you rank our spine compared to other teams?

Rein is terrible. And the reason he hasn't signed with the Dragons is because he wants 500k. Hastings will most likely end up at the Dragons

maybe but it's still an option. Yes rein has priced himself out of the dragons, but will need to go somewhere. Rein just needs some good coaching, everyone looks terrible at the dragons. Gee even Lafai who were keen to have is/was in nsw cup.

We can now strengthen the squad where need be.

Perhaps we look at a front rower (Paul Vaughan/Sam Moa?), a hooker (Segeyaro?) and a half (Hastings?).

On a separate note, the Titans next year will have to pay Peats proper freight, Hurrell proper freight and Hayne a truckload of money....maybe we target Taylor/Elgey and/or Ryan James as recruitment targets post 2017 when they are seeking their own upgraded deals....isnt that how the NRL salary cap works? Down a snake but up a ladder?

The club really needs to produce some exciting signings, they have to sell themselves in 2017 playing away from their spiritual home, and copping masses of poor publicity from the media and NRL

The signing of JH at the TItans will possibly see the casual fans not buy memberships or season tickets. The NRL have no idea that they have given a free kick to the other codes campaigning in Western Sydney, Greenberg is a complete and utter knobhead

Greenberg has got what he wanted, opposition to the Dogs is reduced, if people can't see through how he operates, then He really has taken the code for a ride in the wrong direction

When you have the money we have available to spend on players, every single player in the NRL is available to sign.

Don't worry about who has contracts, in fact I'd be targeting players who have contracts.

NRL have wanted a strong team on the Gold Coast for as long as I can remember. They have put in place an administration to take them forward and they have now managed to pick up some rather astute purchases mid season. They won't lose the likes of Elgey, James or Taylor anytime soon.
