What I think you’ll find is that BA or anyone who deals with the media is selective and strategic with what they say to them. There is an internal position on issues and then key messages that get used when dealing with the media.

The other issue to consider is that coaches typically don’t criticise players or the team in public forums unless they think that it will help their overall position.

Coming out and publicly announcing that he is not happy with the squad before they have even played a game wouldn’t do a lot for their confidence. It’s strategically stupid and completely unnecessary.

He can quietly work on trying to solve the issues. He doesn’t owe bozos like yourself an explanation on every issue that he is thinking about.
