He ran for 100 metres eleven times the year before he joined us, in limited minutes. Twice he made over 180 metres.

So BA f**ked him up.

But seriously though, I two thought, that he would be a good signing for the price too, due to his size, go forward and great offloads. But since being here, improved fitness really didn't eventuate and his offloads gradually disappeared.

On a positive note, BA has maintained and or increased his weight. Great coaching right there by BA. Such great long term influence on young minds.

He embraced the challenge of coaching NSW and failed.

After Cameron Smith retires I suspect we'll find out his influence off the field was arguably just as big as his influence on the field.

Without his security blanket Bellamy comes back to the pack.

You maybe right, but we may never know.

Ivan is under contract until 2021, Nathan is available 2020.

Which mean the only club that can wrap up that quinella is the Tigers. Given Nathan will need to decide next year, almost 2 years before Ivan is available, my money would be Panthers, Tigers or Roosters.
Both Clearys are overrated. Nathan is a good defender for a half, especially for his age. But with him out Maloney has been able to own the team. The only advantage Cleary offers over Peachey is his kicking game, and Maloney has that covered anyway.

I hope Cleary repays the Tigers and stays coach long term. Id rather see you guys do well the the Roosters.

Nathan wont leave. Panthers are flying. Stable club going places. Would be taking a gamble. Why leave a succesfull club. People say spite but the older he gets the less he will want to play for his dad.

Its not the freakn Brady Bunch.

Imagine the dressing room if Daddy is coach. Certain divides may happen, especially if players dislike coach when things go bad. Nathan COULD be caught in middle.
Dumbest thing ive heard he wants to play for his dad.
Agreed. It is the last person a player would want coaching him.

Or did injury just get the better of him? Anyway there's a reason he's off contract.

Yes, under BA's coaching he has turned into a talentless fat slug who can't play.
While most players have improved under Arthur.

Vave was signed at a time when we needed to take big risks. He's a big bloke with talent but obviously has a problem with his work ethic. That's not the coach's job to fix. The player is almost 30. If he can't sort his shit out he finds a new club. The ones with good attitudes are retained.

Whom?

Edwards 1 game
Mansour 4 games
Blake 5 games
DWZ 5 games
Cleary 7 games
Wallace 1 game
Merrin 1 game
McKendry 8 games
Leota 2 games

Total 34 games

Compared to our top 17 omissions:

Gutherson 5 games
French 3 games
Auva'a 4 games
Hayne 6 games
Pritchard 1 game
Moeroa 2 games
Takairangi 4 games
Brown 5 games
Evans 6 games
Mannah 1 game
Williams 5 games
Smith 2 games

Total 44 games

You could say that about any team. The Panthers are going better without Cleary because Maloney gets more ball. Without Blake their right edge defence is much better. The fact is they are top 17 players and without them they lose cohesion.

Gutherson, Hayne, Brown, Evans and Williams are our best attacking players and they have each missed half the season so far.

Of the nine players all would be in top 17....

With ours bar last night most where not missing at one time and many cancel each other out.
Evans,Kaysa,T rex, Auvau, Smith, Bevan arent much better if any then replacements. And most replacements where seasoned NRL players.

Crighton,Egan,Luai,Ellis,Katoa,Hethrington. Are 6 guys with barely any first grade experience, Heck 5 are debutants.

Some have improved due to reaching their peak age. I reckon they would of improved regaurdless.
Not to many seasoned first graders went to another level.

Come on Pou, of course it’s the coach’s Job to fix. If he won’t then we shed him.

I only listed top 17 players from both teams.

They don’t cancel each other out, they are all supposed to be in the 17 together.

As for not missing at the same time it means it prolongs our weakness. If they were missing together it means they would all be back together and the team would’ve been close to full strength for longer.
Evans,Kaysa,T rex, Auvau, Smith, Bevan arent much better if any then replacements. And most replacements where seasoned NRL players.
Smith isn’t an NRL level fullback and George Jennings isn’t a seasoned NRL player. We have been missing the most in attack and none of the replacements have the running game of players like Hayne, Williams or Evans. If guys like Matagi, Terepo or Gennings were suitable replacements we wouldn’t have signed the blokes they are covering for.
Crighton,Egan,Luai,Ellis,Katoa,Hethrington. Are 6 guys with barely any first grade experience, Heck 5 are debutants.
And all played f**k all games and limited minutes.

We have six players off contract from last night’s team. They are off contract because they aren’t top 17. Or maybe they are just holding out for the end of a bidding war.

When do seasoned first graders ever go to another level? They’re at their peak because that’s as good as they get.

If you’ve ever worked with grown men who have poor attitudes you’ll know you can’t sort another man’s shit out for him. Young blokes of working age might still be impressionable enough but by mid-20s if their attitude is shit they are a lost cause.

You don’t know for sure until they get to the club and you see them every day. But when you need to sign some size and you’re on a budget, as we were in mid-2016 when we signed Vave (and Matagi) then you need to take a chance on some blokes who’ve been moved on from four or five different clubs. If they don’t work out you let them go, just like all their previous clubs.

It is still a leader’s reaponsibility to performance manage. If they fail in the real world you to put them on a performance improvement program. However in professional sport if there is no improvement they are usually shown the door.

This is why some coaches are better than others. They manage better. It’s. It always about tactics. I just think BA may have past his used by date with us.
