Instead of merkins looking at it like we gave him the chance to rort us for a year, they should look at it like a four year deal but he was free to leave after three. Jennings is 30 this year, meaning he will be off contract at 31. He might’ve wanted to take a long term deal (3+ years) if he could find one this year. His form means he couldn’t, so now he has to hope he’s playing well next year when he’s off contract for real, without the safety net.
