I don’t think he’s being greedy. He has placed a minimum value on his services (like every other professional athlete does) and the club are yet to match it.Agreed. He's starting to look like a greedy merkin. Goofy but greedy.
Or what? He'll go to one of the other clubs offering him that?I don’t think he’s being greedy. He has placed a minimum value on his services (like every other professional athlete does) and the club are yet to match it.
I also don’t think he’s asking for an exorbitant amount.
$700k for 4 years. The club just need to get it done.
He’ll hold off signing (as has been indicated today) and continue to perform until another club agrees with said value.Or what? He'll go to one of the other clubs offering him that?
He has every right to do that. As the club has every right to stick to their own valuation of him. And it's the club's valuation that seems closer to the market's.He’ll hold off signing (as has been indicated today) and continue to perform until another club agrees with said value.
I don’t see how that is “greedy”.
Yep. But how does that make Gutho greedy? He has every right to do that. As the club has every right to stick to their own valuation of him. And it's the club's valuation that seems closer to the market's.
Agreed. He's starting to look like a greedy merkin. Goofy but greedy.
Because the market has already determined his value and he's asking for more than anyone is willing to pay. And he's happy for his manager to use media mates to drum up pressure on the club and force them to pay more than they think he's worth.Yep. But how does that make Gutho greedy?
Ex-footballers opinions matter the same as those from ex-politicians. Sweet FA.Tbh Pricey would know all about morons. Great player, absolutely no mistake... but my goodness he left at least 65% of his brain matter smeared somewhere on the field over the years.
I’d say the market is still waiting to see:Because the market has already determined his value and he's asking for more than anyone is willing to pay. And he's happy for his manager to use media mates to drum up pressure on the club and force them to pay more than they think he's worth.
Grimaldis, DUMBO Brooklyn NYCLittle trattoria joint in Rome
Perfect dough, some marinara sauce, basil, scamorza, and about 200g of fresh parma prosciutto
Well if all the other clubs are waiting to see these things before offering big money over four years then why shouldn't our club?I’d say the market is still waiting to see:
1. If his electric form continues
2. He continues to be injury free
3. He can be a leader/captain that generates success
4. What cap space they may have (offloading players, not re-signing others)
This being the case, I don’t blame him for holding out for a deal that he thinks he is worth.
Sure, they are entitled to do that. I just thing it’s the wrong strategy. Also, conversely it could be argued that the club are trying to be greedy by trying to pressure him into a contract that undervalued when compared to other fullbacks in the competition.Well if all the other clubs are waiting to see these things before offering big money over four years then why shouldn't our club?
He can gamble all he likes but it'd be nice if he didn't drag the club through the mud to get what he wants.
Because he wants more than he's worth.Yep. But how does that make Gutho greedy?
That doesn't make us greedy, it makes us miserly. But we're the ones operating under a salary cap, not him.Sure, they are entitled to do that. I just thing it’s the wrong strategy. Well the market (highest offer) determines what anyone is worth so if you’re right, we have absolutely nothing to worry about.Because he wants more than he's worth.
