There was talk that MON wanted Flannagan as an assistant to BA this year but BA wanted to stick solid with his current supports. Its certainly not out of the question I suppose. BA and our Eels will need a good start to quell the rumours.
Hopefully it doesn’t put too much pressure on getting a good start.

I am not obsessed with Indians - I am interested in how Parra could go from 15k average crowd to 25k average crowd (generally just how to increase crowds). I see the Indians playing cricket in big numbers out at Parramatta Park and I think they like doing things as a big community. They also like to feel welcome like everyone else so I see them as low hanging fruit. We should bend over backwards trying to get them to the game.

To quote the foolish and slightly naughty Karl Stefanovic "Who will be manning the 7-Elevens during the game?"

I reckon the reason they like cricket is because they're good at it.

Fair. But to my broader point do you think it is not worth trying to get Indian bums on bankwest seats (or Chinese)? I have heard some say just keep doing what we are doing (target everybody a bit). I think that has been a failure. Keep doing that but also target groups/sub communities.

I get that Manly can only draw 10k (not many fans, small area, crap stadium) etc, but to me in comparison Parra getting 15k has always been a big fail.

I've always agreed with engaging Indians in regards to NRL, especially when it comes to the Eels. They show real passion from grass roots level and above when it comes to cricket. Why not try and incorporate them in winter sports like NRL? Our Centre of Excellence is a 5 minute drive from The Ponds and surrounding suburbs. It would be an excellent initiative to tap into the that base from an Eels perspective.

It takes years of marketing and fan communication to get to this

It's not just Parra. Most teams apart from Bulldogs fail at this.
It's not just the Bulldogs, lebanese love rugby league. Eels, Dragons, Tigers, they all have good support from the Lebanese community. A big reason is all the lebanese who have been successful in top level rugby league over the years. It's going the same way with Africans and AFL - they are suited to it and have a few playing at the highest level, and the community support follows from that. If we ever have an Indian or Chinese NRL player I'm sure the interest will spike.

Serbs are the same. They don’t do Union. Only League and they are talented. It all started with Bilbija and Živanović. Now a quarter of the Origin team are Serbs.

I don't think physically they'd be much good. They don't have the build.

Short-sighted premise on your part. You've basically eliminated a fair proportion of possible Eels future players and supporters based on not much more than a quick rundown of their physique.
