Barrett was regarded as the brains behind the Riffs attack prior taking his deck chair to Manly, as a HC he didn’t have the leadership required, it’s a start to refresh thinking at the clubs coaching staff.

The steps taken using. Nathan Brown in the pathways is smart, he has no connection to those currently involved, his forte was always development.

Looks like BA was involved in the decision making, why would you sign a new assistant if you are looking at moving on the head coach?? You wouldn’t, Baldie is going nowhere just like this club.
Most head coaches select their own assistants mate so it makes sense that BA would be heavily involved in the Barrett recruitment. If BA doesnt have a job on 1st November, I am guessing Barrett doesnt either unless the BA replacement wants to keep him.

What are your thoughts on the T-Baz's appointment.

Was it the best we could do or would you have preferred to look somewhere else.

Barrett is basically damaged goods atm and a bit of running joke considering what he has done to Manly & Canterbury.
I think that BA is trying to pull together a coaching team that can offer something new and different to our players.
If you are looking for an experienced assistant than someone with Barretts experience at all levels of coaching is probably better than someone who has only been an assistant.

Given Kidwell has been gone for a while, I am not sure BA hasn't been looking elsewhere.

So surely that includes a payout as well?? We are just a small club with no resources how we afford to pay out so many coaches ffs?!!

That would depend on the conditions of the contract.
I hire staff all the time on fixed term contracts and they have a 1 month payout/notice period in each contract.

See my comment above mate. I reckon he would leave if BA did, unless the new coach wanted him and he wanted to stay.
You'd like to think that if we part company with BA the club have a replacement lined up and ready go straight away who ISN'T Trent Barrett.... Otherwise I could see Barrett angling for a caretaker head coach role and pushing for an audition of sorts. Hopefully the club wouldn't be stoopid enough to entertain such a scenario....

Still a dumb move. I can’t see why all these decisions couldn’t be made at the conclusion of season 2022.
I would say that if BA is yet to be tapped on the shoulder, then they have to treat it as business as usual and keep operating as if he will be here in 2023. That means he needs to replace his assistants and in reality, we are 10 weeks out from the start of pre-season so hiring who you want is important to do now. Imagine this place if only Murphy was available as an assistant and had to be extended.

My recent mail didn't have Barrett on the list of potential BA replacements (if one is needed).

Yes, and I would have thought that it would be standard practice when hiring assistants that there's a two-sided option to terminate if the head coach is fired, and they get paid a couple of months salary if they are terminated as a consequence. Certainly that's how it works in many other football competitions.

This is the Parramatta way and motto…. “We will take in the shit and give them home”

Brad Arthur
Trent Barrett
Nathan Brown
Paul McGregor

Are these jokers for real? Not only do we have a coach with no freaken idea, he hires more brain dead failures with no idea. Who the frig is running the place?
