So if we can't match the dogs TPAs for Moses, should we use cap space to meet the dog's offer and pay overs?
what have they offered Moses ?

Maybe? Our kicking game obviously wouldn't be as good but our exit sets would be the bomb. I guess it would be like losing our biggest strength to shore up our biggest attacking weakness. Plus Williams is a better defender than Moses, so defence would improve.Pou, would George Williams + To'o cover for losing Moses?
We are dealing with hypotheticals here. Obviously we'll never know their offer or ours. Perhaps he'll go there for unders?what have they offered Moses ?

Also, To'o would mean fewer runs required from Paulo and RCG, which would improve our defence as well.
Hypothetically, there is no chance he would leave for unders. It was a joke. I doubt he would even stay for unders, at his age.well if we are talking hypotheticals, then perhaps he wont

Fair enough but Matto ended up getting a big deal, Gutho got an increase and we were then prepared to pay big for Ice and we even upped our offer for Rheed. The trick is to recognise their worth to the team and dont play silly buggers. I feel there is an element of undervaluing players and pis*ing them off initially with offers that offend. There are no players in the club even remotely capable of filling Drowns or Moses spot even though some may believe otherwise.Mate, I want Moses and Drown to stay with my team slowly transitioning to
1. Drown
6. Guth
7. Moses
But if the Dogs or Cats offer too much in particular with TPA, will MON match it?
I doubt it depending on the difference. He didn't match it with Paps, Mahoney or Marata.
We have alot of money tied up in our Props and Guth and you could probably add Matto to that list.
So without a good pack, Moses can only kick our way out but we will still struggle.
Moses can be replaced by maybe
To'o, George Williams and another good rucker outer. Then his long kicking game is not so required.
If dogs steal Moses, we can also try and steal Burton and his kicking game will cover Moses. If we manage to keep Drown, he will be our attacking threat.
So we might give Moses $1.2M max. Say we need to goto $1.4M to match the dogs, then
To'o, Williams combined might be cheaper
No-one believes otherwise GazThere are no players in the club even remotely capable of filling Drowns or Moses spot even though some may believe otherwise.
Making an assessment on what the chances are is a judgment for each man to make for himself. We’ll never know the truth. These things aren’t falsifiable, so we are dealing with opinion. If a trusted source like the Guardian tells you anything about it, it is just their opinion too. There’s no need to question some things and not others, as though some opinions are the truth. If you want to keep playing this stupid game I’m happy to chase you around demanding proof. Be careful. And not being equally likely doesn't equal no chance...
The ‘well run’ clubs also have players off contract for 2024, and they also lose top 17 players. If they never offered unders they would never be able to assemble strong squads. Negotiation means you start low. If players are offended at that they aren’t the professionals you want at your club.Fair enough but Matto ended up getting a big deal, Gutho got an increase and we were then prepared to pay big for Ice and we even upped our offer for Rheed. Like everything in life. There are people better than others. Offering unders as the start point of negotiations is a ridiculous tactic and not part of any professionals approach if the end game is to secure the signature. The ‘well run’ clubs also have players off contract for 2024, and they also lose top 17 players. Maybe, but not everything is equally likely.
QED.And not being equally likely doesn't equal no chance...

Of course it is. These are footy players. They’re ultimately worth whatever they accept, and you don’t know exactly what that is at the start of negotiations. Why offer $700k if he might accept $500k? Why offer $1.2M when $1M might be enough?Like everything in life. There are people better than others. There’s nothing circular about it. I’ve established it’s hypothetical and that I think there’s no chance he will go to Canterbury for unders. From there any attempts to twist my words are just bullshit from a dickhead trying to play games yet again.QED.

No-one's twisting your words. In the above chain of four posts, two people have replied to you... with civility. But as they say, if you can't stand the heat in the kitchen then maybe it's time to take a break from cooking? There’s nothing circular about it. Do you think the Panthers, Storm, Roosters, Sharks and Cowboys and Rabbitohs (i.e the other finals sides from last season) will be losing any of the halves that they want to keep? The ‘well run’ clubs also have players off contract for 2024, and they also lose top 17 players.
