Who did we replace Opacic with?

Its sort of funny Opacic was more reliable then people gave him credit for. The consensus was when he announced he was leaving was he wasn't going to be a great loss.

He wasn't explosive or a game breaker but was solid and did a good enough job.

Sivo's defensive decisions were a lot better when Opacic was inside him then most centres he has been next to.

It's not like we were breaking the bank to keep him.

They were gaps in the roster. We had the roster slots and cap space, so they were not players we could call on for first grade.

First 8 losses no excuse with injuries or suspension.
Dunster blew his knee preseason in 2022 so excluded.

Loiuzou played 1 game in 2021 should not be in the top 30.

He is in the top 30 because of his potential. He was carving up in reserve grade last year but has missed a lot of games injured this year.

It's fairly common. There would be plenty of clubs with a big young outside back in their top 30. It's either that or use a top 30 spot on Lumelume or Gildart. Yep he was a solid first grader I think he annoyed me but was still a better option than Super Simmonson.

Loizou was excellent in reserve grade last year. Nobody knew he was going to miss most of 2023 with injury. Luckily he was only signed for one year so it's no big deal.

You can win at full strength and lose with half your team out. The point is that, over a big enough sample, your win rate will be better at full strength.
