I am optimistic about 2024. I do feel we still lack a few toughies. Who in our side is actually tough? RCG and Grieg are probably the only 2 id put down as tough men. Morretti has the potential till to join them.

No more pretty boys ffs. It's great having talent and skill but in rugby league you need toughies. Guys who can get a little rough and dirty.
Matterson,Bryce and Lane are talented edge backrowers but give me Manu Mau over all of them based on his hard arse attitude.
Your man Moretti has a contract to 2025 as per the tele today.

Still on a development contract next year but Top-30 in 2025.

Looking at Fiji v PNG yesterday Zac Laybutt (No.3 centre) impressed me, has footwork and speed but most importantly looks strong defensively. Easily handled Ravalawa, a much bigger man, who scored 4 tries against us. A young player in the Cowboys system who they may be willing to let go with much more upside than Harpic and wouldn't cost an arm and leg.

Pretty sure he only re-signed this year mate... good chance of getting a starting centre spot at the Cows this year as well (with Hiku departing).

Good young player though.

I think our window to land Bennett has passed. I'm not sure he'd want to move south of the border again - must be getting close to retirement now and seems fairly settled with his younger better half?

Wouldn't surprise me if our club makes a bid for Eddie Jones, who's been talking up his desire to be involved in NRL in an article today 😂

Oh God please no, but knowing our club that's exactly who they would get. The man is a Hoax.

If Bennett is available the club would be mad not to inquire at least whether he is open to joining us.

He is a proven, multi-premiership-winning coach. I'm only sold on sacking BA if we can get someone we know will be better...Bennett is definitely better.

He did a great job with a brand-new Dolphins team this year, made up of scraps, rejects and past-their-used-by-date players. I'd love to see what he could do with our squad.

I think Bennett would cut out some of the dumb shit in our game and fix the Defence.

Too many times we drift in and out of games. Like we jump out to a 12-0 lead against inferior opposition then clock off for 20 mins and its an arm-wrestle with the scores back even again.

He would also have the players believing they can win big games at backend of the year.

I still doubt no matter what the players say when it comes to crunch atm we still lack a bit of mental self-belief getting the job done in big games in September.

Because outside of that Townsville prelim we just haven't won finals that was an arm-wrestle. 2 out of the 4 finals wins under BA have been blowouts at Commbank.

Those PNG players are hard to read. Kyle Laybutt is Wally Lewis when he’s wearing a Kumuls jersey, but never really got going in NRL.

Was Bennett not coaching the Dolphins when we put 40 on them in a half?
He has coached over 900 games. He has a good enough track record to justify a couple of poor performances.

Most of the whinging about his recent record is from Telegraph hacks who hate him because he treats them with the contempt they deserve.

I would like to know what happened to us after that half though.

Wtf happened to our attack after that match did they leave it somewhere on the Sunshine Coast.

We didn't fire a shot in the last 2 months after that game other then the last game against Penrith which was a dead rubber.
