I have moved on from Reed he showed his true colours.

f**k him he is just a little pest that's all he has got to his game is niggle.

The problem has always been the inability to replace him like Koroisau was on the Market at the same time as Hodgson.

Tigers were going to sign Hodgson then changed there mind to Api after we went after Hodgson.

Sam Verills was available as well.

Instead we signed Josh Hodgson to warm the dummy half spot for a few years before a certain dummy half who was 16-17 years old at the time would be ready for FG.
Koroisau would’ve cost twice as much as Hodgson. There would have been massive demand. If we couldn’t afford to keep Mahoney there’s no chance we would’ve been able to afford Koroisau.

@Poupou Escobar is like the Vietcong lost in the jungle fighting a war that’s already over.

Come in son the war is over it’s time for us all to get on board with the Ryles era.

You backed a dumb, bald slow horse that has just been taken to the glue factory. We have a sleek new thoroughbred with plenty of hair. Come aboard my man!!
I’m already on board with Ryles. I’ll be supporting him long after you merkins are inventing expert opinions on why he’s the reason we haven’t won a competition since ‘86.

looking back now, that was a horrible decision, even if it was about $ Verrils would of been a much better option at the same price as Hodgson.
Hodgson was a better player and closer to what we needed, but he carried availability risk due to his age. Verrills might’ve been available every week but so are Lussick and Hands.

Even Tim Mannah , normally a club cheerleader, stressed that the past 5/6 years decisions in recruitment have been poor particularly on contracts and players. Appointments have consequences.
Mannah’s dismal career was bookended by two much more successful periods, pre-2010 and post-2018. It’s pretty rich for him to be criticising the last five or six years. He wishes he could’ve been part of it.

Gee, you don’t have to counter every post with some half arsed opinion of your own, then again guess that’s your niche product.

His contract was prob written up when he was playing sg ball. The option prob wouldn't be anywhere near wat a first grader would get. He hardly played flegg or cup.

What I don't understand is why didn't they offer him a top 30 deal in the off season?? By leaving it they have allowed other clubs to come in and pump up the $$$$
Every club knew his potential before this year. And we did offer him an upgrade to the top thirty for this year, and he only wanted one year with a PO. This would allow him to play some first grade and either maximise how value for 2025 or take up the option if it turned out he wasn’t ready yet, or if he got injured.

probably because whether you like it or not, Matt Arthur was potentially a better option long term? .....you know sometimes it's not all about nEpoTism? ...also none of us whinged about Joey Lussicks signing until he fell off a cliff.

#hindsight
Merkins whinged about letting him leave after 2021. Back then he was playing behind a better pack. Since last year our pack has fallen off a cliff and every hooker in the club has struggled.

I didn't see it. He lacks pace and looks slow. He is very small for a middle player and I feel that if he packet on the muscle required, he'd be even slower.
The best hooker in the history of the game was slow.
Matt has a crafty game, but you'd expect that after training with the squad since he was 13.
All he did was conditioning training ffs. He wasn’t in opposed sessions.
They also said that Jake was the next big thing, now he's a 3rd string half at manly looking for an opportunity
Second string but injured. Also contracted for 2025.
NEpoTism- which other development program players got the chance to train with the top team from a very young age, not fking many. That's absolute favouritism. Most would have given anything for the opportunity.
He was running laps ffs. Kids can do that anywhere.

I don't know how he was awarded a 2.5 year deal at Parra. That was a ridiculous length of time for a journeyman. Been happening since the Kane Evans 3y deal days.
To get him to leave the country he was living in and the team where he was top 17, we had to offer more than a six month trial contract. He left the NRL last time for a reason.

Anyway bro, Ryles is the new era with a clean slate, Well almost. Let's see if he makes all the right moves.
