The daily Telegraph today published a list of 'unwanted players', that are being shopped around by their respective clubs. Most I wouldn't bother with. But two I would: Matt Lodge and Dean Whare. James Roberts at his best would be great - but a gamble due to his potential for injury and his possible attitude problems.

I'd go for Roberts if we can get Rabbits to pay a chunk of his contract. We need more speed on our edges and he'd give plenty of space to Sivo. If he can recapture his 2018 form he would be a bargain.

I will be interested to see who else the Roosters offload now...I suggest they held onto a few knowing they were going for 3 in a row. Now that they are 3 years away from that at least, I suspect they will try and move a few on. Flanagan and this guy are the first two examples.
They got in Brett, Josh and Sonny Bill Morris for their big game experience. I wonder if they'll keep any of them for the rebuild.

They should be getting rid of Cordner. Has done his job and is surely not far away from being medically retired if he gets 1 or 2 more concussions...
Most overrated player of the last 20 years, and now he is totally cooked. If he played at a club like the Dogs he’d be a poor mans Plod Jackson.

I wouldn't go near Roberts. Too much baggage and without Skeletor covering up his off field misdemeanours it'd be o ky a matter of time before he ended up in some sort of strife I reckon

The podcast with Jamie Soward was interesting in the review of the Eels. Stated it’s difficult to win a title at anytime, and some changes for next season are needed to take the next step as they are basically a top 4 side but need to add to what they have.

He said swap the halves to give Moses an opportunity to open up his running game, as both players actually had the other position than they are playing initially.
A defensive centre who can add his voice to the backs, a back up 9 and at least a couple of bench forward that provide energy and grunt. Said when he was at the Dragqueens , that’s what Bennett did when he came m did his research and recruited positions hard and they went on to win a premiership.

Is a sense that’s what most posters think, getting it done may prove a little harder

If Moses was prepared to relinquish the running of the side to Brown, and just concentrate on his own running, he could become great again. I'd actually love to see Brown putting Moses through a gap.

Of course that’s the dream goal for every club and coach each year.
But there’s a thing called a realist goal, which every club would set.
For example the Dogs wouldn’t have had a goal of winning the comp this year, probably more realistic to finish in the top of the bottom 8.
With the injuries and MJ situation that happened at the end of the season, the way we finished would be a pass mark, only just but it would be!

There’s 16 teams in the comp, only 1 coach is winning the competition each year. Most coaches are judged on improvements each year, BA has been improving

I've enjoyed footy the last 4yrs. People forget 2011-2013 days when you started the season hoping not to get the spoon.

Whare is done....

We build this side with what we have and some juniors. If something exciting pops up we go for it but we are not desperate. We do not need to make desperate signings.
If we are 1-17 next season minus Evans is it terrible? Niakuore takes his spot and I assume Kafusi takes Stones.
If MJ is gone which I assume he is we find a centre.

I reckon Hughes will play NRL also next season. And how old is this Pensini kid?

We got to 3rd with both our halves playing at about 5/10 and Mahoney about 6..... We only need those three to get to about a 7 and we are a threat. If one hits an 8 or 9 we could win it.

I reckon our recruitment strategy should lean towards targeting specific players not wait for them to become available. Sort out who we want and go for it. Contracts are not worth the paper they are written on these days.
Ive always liked Kurt Mann. Can play hooker, halfs and fullback. A high energy player. Another if we could get cheap would be Josh Reynolds. Again can cover hooker and halfs. Whare would be a good replacement for Mennings but he does have an injury in him. Sharpie, Markey O and BA are hard at work I'm sure. Fieldsy should be heavily involved as well.

And if I was a betting man I would say its a far higher chance all 3 of those guys play at a 6 or 7 level then at 5..... Mahoney started looking good the last month. Brown and Moses had very ordinary years.

Another thing we need to work on is this

RCG, Kafusi, Niakuore developing an offload and a short pass. It would take their games to another level.

Stone either has too get stronger and make a contribution to the pack and cover hooker if needed otherwise becomes a NSW cup player.
