Here is a juicy rumour

Ryles & Robbo had a falling out after he got punted from the Roosters in 2023

Did anyone watch Ryles press conference last week post the game when he got asked about the Simmonson call.

So around 2 min 10 sec mark

When he was probed to give a reaction he refused to be drawn into talking about referees and made mention that he worked under coaches then changed it to a "Coach" previously that spent time and energy into referee decisions. And he won't be that type of coach.

Now if that's not a sly dig at someone he previously worked for i don't know what is.

Now Eddie Jones, Craig Bellamy & Trent Robinson are the only 3 coaches i am aware Ryles has worked under.

Eddie jones was in the box the other week so i doubt its him & Ryles went back to work under Bellamy so i doubt if there relationship was that bad he would have gone back there.

So it must have been a dig at Robbo.

My two cents - I call him "lazy" because I have seen him, many times, actively drift away from his defensive assignment, to let a teammate make the tackle.

He is a dynamic attacking player, and would transform our side.

I would hope that his attitude would be up to what Ryles is building here.
That's the whole problem of paying him $800k plus. It's based on "hopefully", Ryles can transform him....that's too risky,

As others have said, yes we are a last and need some better players (I don't think we need to many, but that's another discussion), but generally clubs struggle to get off the bottom of the table by making desperate signings. They are constantly looking at a "sugar hit", paying overs for risky players.

Look at the tigers and Dogs and some of the signings they made over the last few years before they eventually moved off the bottom. It took some more strategic signings.

We don't need to risk $800k on Fifita. Yeah it may take some time, but it's better to wait for the correct signing. You don't stuff your cap that way! And more chance of getting of the bottom.

would we need to pay him $800k? With his drop off in form and most other clubs having their rosters sorted I couldn't see much interest at that amount.
I think we could get him a little cheaper especially if the Titans are chipping in as well

Not news.

There is bad blood there bc when Ryles was considering the Dragons job, the Rorters took offence and sacked him.

As long as we have a 600k forward in KOE you’re probably right. But I know for a fact that Matterson looooves the Goldie so if him going north could somehow be part of the deal, it should be seriously considered.

Any of you merkins sphincter tightening with Roosters clearing the decks? ......
Something about your posts, more if the Tigpies win and a strange addiction to stir a club that you don’t follow. Yes we are a significantly larger club than the Tigpies, but seriously you need to find another hobby.

answer to your strange question, not bothered at all.

Nope

The only two we couldn't survive losing would be Lomax and Moses.

Neither of those is going anywhere

Why, you worried that Luai might be on their radar or May might kiss and make up? Maybe Bula to replace Teddy?

That last one is definitely the go....

He is a talented but lazy player, I think we all agree on that including the bit where some epoeple say he is better than what we have.

It will all be down to the fact that does JR think he is worth the big bucks when it comes to fitting in with our club, team culture thingy. JR has Matto and Carty playing in Cup for a reason, so will he think Fifita is worth another gamble ? I'd like to be a fly on the wall during that conversation.
And I reckon the answer is that if he couldn't consistently play like a $1m player at the Titans, why do we think he would here... I'm willing to bet we don't.

He’s talking about them signing Galvin instead of us. Which isn’t going to happen. He might not end up in B and G but he sure isn’t going to the Roosters.

Look at his numbers in qcup last week. 9 runs for 58m. You can blame halves, you can blame the team around him but just under 6.5m per run that's a woeful attitude. Those 9 runs he should be making double those metres.
I’d rather look at his numbers in first grade for his entire career. He has never had a tackle efficiency less than 90% and his average running metres has only been below 100m in one season out of eight. That’s elite

Pretty sure he made 30 tackles for no missed in a well beaten team in Q Cup last week. His running metres reflected the context of the game.
