He is on overs up front rather than at the end of his contract, which for some reason is just fine.Interesting take given the length of TDS contract

Met tino about 6 months ago at loyds auction house Carrara , knows ryles well , take it as given we will go for himDon’t be surprised if we go all out for Tino.
Wel considering one is a 20 year old spine player and the rest were almost 30 and past their best i don't see it's even comparable.Interesting take given the length of TDS contract
Most of those merkins were almost 30 ffs!!Yeah we should’ve known they’d all shit themselves by the age of 30. Or 25 in the case of Dylan Brown.
I think where we are as a club atm.I don’t want to be too grinchy here but I’m not sold on TDS at all and if the reported 2.5m over 4yrs is true it makes me extremely worried. He has speed yes and can be a legitimate threat from dummy half, however imo his service & effort areas isn’t up to scratch for that type of money. I really, really hope he makes a bald fool out of me and kills it but I think they’ve pulled the wrong reign here.
It's very strange.Cartwright's form in NSW Cup has been poor (actually solid, which is poor for a first grader), however Matterson has been immense in his NSW Cup appearances this year. Something else is going on with him. I'd say Ryles is just off him.
Availability is the foundation of being selected, that’s not something in 2025 that’s a strong point. It's very strange.
I’m not sure so sure KG and it’s probably got as much to with the position as the player for me as Hooker really is one you can’t afford to overpay. While the state of the club isn’t super atm they’ve made some tough decisions to get a fairly blank canvas when it comes to the cap and I just feel securing an elite forward (or two!) & decent 5/8th would be the priority especially after unearthing Ryley this year. I agree there’s talent there and sincerely hope he fully realises it in the Blue & Gold.I think where we are as a club atm.
Its a risk we had to take.
5 clubs were after him so its not like he had no takers.
Talent is there.
He is a potential 10+ year dummy half for us.
They're only 31 now ffs! They're not 35.Most of those merkins were almost 30 ffs!!
Yep in terms of upskilling its becoming obivous Benji can't coach.Personally I'm a huge Riley fan but today's NRL seems to suit a 2 hooker rotation. We now have a coach that can upskill players so if TDS is wanting, Ryles and co will soon remedy that. I expect our dynamic duo to deliver us some incredible footy moving footy.
In Ryles we trust.
He's ordinary now but streets ahead of his peers of the same age (including Matt Arthur, another one with very high ceiling). Da Silva will probably play Origin, but offers close to zero for the rest of the year. He will likely be a gun by the final year of this contract, which is great, but how good will he be in the first three years? In a perfect world we would be giving him a contract starting in 2029, not finishing in that year.I don’t want to be too grinchy here but I’m not sold on TDS at all and if the reported 2.5m over 4yrs is true it makes me extremely worried. Maybe TDS has a secret dossier and wants to be developed properly
You’re right! No chance this one could bite us on the assWel considering one is a 20 year old spine player and the rest were almost 30 and past their best i don't see it's even comparable.
They were all proven performers and we were trying to keep our premiership window open. What has this kid proven? How's our wooden spoon window looking with this signing?Wel considering one is a 20 year old spine player and the rest were almost 30 and past their best i don't see it's even comparable.
We love a good portugese hooker don’t we?
Ideally it’ll mean Riley can do more of what he’s good at (kick chase, being a pest, making a bazillion tackles) and TDS same (getting out of dummy half, run pressure, put on a big hit)Personally I'm a huge Riley fan but today's NRL seems to suit a 2 hooker rotation.
