Furthermore , I watched the interview with his management team yesterday. His intention was to go to rugby but ‘ when the Storm ring you pick up the phone and take the call”. He has no intention of sticking to his agreement with us and his sights are set on Melbourne. Pretty ordinary stuff considering The good faith the release was given in .

I think if we are all being honest here we have always assumed we would get rorted in this situation, it hasn't happened yet but I fully expect the NRL to force it through with us getting nothing of value.
I have faith that we'll hold the line like with Lyon. Though it does seem that Judas, who got homesick and moved to England, had more morals than Lomax.

What if he continues to be a rubbish centre like he has been his whole career and we’re the only team that don’t get to see the benefit of his 3 flick passes over the sideline a game and shit defensive reads? Can we drop the don’t play against us clause ? Would rather have him goal kicking against us than a kicker that kicks over 70%.

Honestly the club need to bring him and his management in and tell them to give a list of clubs he’d be happy to play at and where he won’t have his annual sook and leave . Then negotiate the best outcome for us amongst those clubs. If he says he’ll only play for Melbourne I fail to see how our clause wouldn’t hold up legally with all the options in the world he could chose and I’d leave him hanging until Melbourne come to the party. What an absolute derrick he is seriously , shows how desperate Melbourne are all of a sudden that they’d even entertain signing the someone with so many red flags around him. He isn’t the sort of bloke they’ve traditionally signed but this offseason seems to have messed with them a bit .
Bellamy and Storm are desperate because they just lost 2 GFs where they went in as favorites and finished as a Top 2 side against a team below them on the ladder.

Bellamy i suspect is leaving at end of this year and wants one more premiership and its his last shot to win something without Cam Smith.

They have had some of there roster start to walk away Pezet, NAS & Paps.

Whatever standards on character and pub test they have done when recruiting players has now gone out the window because time is running out.

Hughes/Munster ain't getting any younger and there losing more top 17 in 2027.

I think Storm know there premiership window is starting to slip a bit and all these decisions they have made in this off season have gone completely against what they have done for the past 10-15 years when they remodeled there cap post 2010.

PVL will only screw us if we're allow to happen.
I read the article in question no quotes from PVL or NRL just sources.

Which could be some made up BS from Lomax's camp to put a bit more pressure on us to fold.

Which there probably banking on.

We did fire our first shot at back end of last week naming the 3 players we were looking at so this could be a return serve from Lomax.

His manager certainly rewrote history on a few minor details on Kent's podcast last week to make it look like poor Zac has been hard done by and a great kid.

The nonsense about Gutho being punted 2 weeks after Lomax signed like please were not that dumb

I think NRL will act in their own best interests and do as article stated to mediate a resolution but also it isn’t their place to dictate to us what is reasonable. That’s our decision to make. That also said, we don’t get to dictate (at least fully) who and if we get a player in return. Even if we want them and Scum don’t , us and Scum can’t force a player to change clubs. But also I would hope the NRL would do due diligence on what player wants, not just take Scum’s word.

Even if the NRL decide to be dictators, surely SURELY if they decide how much we’re due, then likewise they can decide how much Scum should pay Lomax, and that what’s the likelihood of picking up a current Origin/Aus player for <$400k?

As I said - Melbourne WILL NOT release a player, let alone a potential rep level player.

NRL WANT Lomax playing.

Eels get screwed over.

the end.

the club don’t want it in courts, the NRL don’t want it in courts.
Sorry EF but you're completely wrong. NRL have no power here and they're acting as moderators only here. Why would they force Parra into a deal that disadvantages them by breaking a contract? That makes a mockery of their own (NRL) contracts. Secondly they'll not force Parra to accept Storm's puny offer as it appears all the other clubs are against it also. Financial compensation is not what Parra is after, they want like for like player replacement. And the Scum can get f**ked if they don't come to the party!

As significantly the highest funder of the club they do have us over a barrel.
Doubt NRL have the power to pick and choose who they give the grant to. After all, all the clubs have a contract/agreement with NRL to play in their competition and NRL to pay grant to accordingly. Plus as someone said we're one of the best supported teams out there.

As a Dragon's supporter, the Storm can get f$%#ed. A couple of thousand dollars compensation to release a test level player is BS. You guys don't need the money, you want an equivalent level player.

Also someone in this thread mentioning the NRL withholding your grant money if Parra does not come to the party. Can't see that happening as it would create all sorts of legal ramifications and show a bias towards the Storm just because Parra are standing up for themselves and would open up a situation of other unscrupulous clubs and managers doing the same thing in the future to get a player.

Stay strong Eels. Although it would be funny when the cameras pan to Bellamy blowing a blood vessel after Lomax has thrown a no-look flick pass into row Z.

Which is the point exactly. They could give is $1M but unless we can spend it on the cap, it just goes to admin and juniors. Great for development, but does little to compensate us for the 2026+ seasons after the player misrepresented (?) his intentions around the release. The essence of the agreement was that he was gone from the code in AU and not coming back. He agreed not to play for a competitor.

It's hard to get a rep level player to move clubs and Parra might not be able to do the same next time. Stand your ground. Rep player for rep player. Let's see if the Storm really want Lomax for a fair player swap.

What a joke, we will end up with a transfer free forced by the NRL

NRL can’t force us to do shit.
They can mediate proceedings and try their best to get both clubs to come to a fair conclusion, but we have a legal contract with Zac and we don’t have to release him if we don’t get fair compensation. At this time it seems that ‘fair compensation’ for us means players and not cash.

Just read a comment on facey. Scum can have him for no money, no player. They’ve got to admit that we deserve the 2009 premiership and they don’t.
And the 2009 Premiership be awarded to Parramatta retrospectively.

To be fair this would be a smart negotiating tactic from the club if the NRL want Lomax back in the NRL.
