Just sign Hastings immediately, to drive those forwards and add the physical, aggressive attitude from 7, where he belongs.

Footnote, saw AD listed as fullback for the Cedars in world cup thingy going on, watched the highlights and he seemed to have a 2nd receivers role in attack. Sheens via Farah idea?
Definitely, I'd be re-signing Hastings as a half.

AD played as fullback coz Kiraz was rested due to HIA protocols & the young half from the dogs Rajab played very well at 5/8 in the previous match v Ireland

I read the paper talk, that we are chasing Dylan Brown. What does the brains trust think of this and does who who out of AD, Brooks and Hastings go to sign him and who would work best with him ?

Also I wonder if Sheens will hang around to be a mentor for Benji, most assistant coaches do more than a 2 year apprenticeship these days.

I hope we keep Hastings and Dooee, but really, no one performed well last season and I think rightly so that everyone is under the microscope and all positions are up for grabs?

I think its lunacy that we have gone past Nov 1 with not one half contracted past next year.

I can see us losing all of them and not signing either of the eels guys.

Which would leave us seriously f**ked.
Especially with all the talk about us wanting other halves ie Parramattas 2?

Newcastle veterans Tyson Frizell and David Klemmer have reportedly been shopped around in a bid to reinvigorate Newcastle’s struggling roster and lure Luke Brooks to the club.

Gee, is there any news service as bad as News Corp/Fox Sports in regurgitating a story?

Don't know what's worse though, the regurgitating or the Concord mob procrastinating in regards to releasing Brooks & signing Hastings.

f**k me dead I'd take Frizzel and Klemmer in a heartbeat. If we can't get Bateman then Frizzel would be next best (I rate Bateman higher than Frizzel only because of how he apparently lifts the standards of the team).

I don't know why the club are dicking around with all this halves chasing business. Just f**king re-sign Hastings as our long term Halfback and be done with it

Certainly would like the Canberra version of Bateman.I heard from a mate who follows the sub standard super league that Bateman has been ordinary.

Totally agree with the unforgivable delay by the dopes at Concord in re-signing Hastings. Its glaring that the rugby league illiterate imbeciles perceive both Hastings & AD as disposable.

The Wests Tigers are in the final stages of signing-off on a deal to bring English International John Bateman back to the NRL.
In a move that could finally drag the Wests Tigers out of the competition cellar, the 29-year-old is eyeing a three-year deal to join a new-look Tigers pack that will include premiership-winning hooker Api Koroisau and Kiwi international Isaiah Papali'I.
On top of the recruitment of Koroisau, Papalii and almost certainly Bateman, the Tigers are also aiming to add either David Klemmer or Tyson Frizell from Newcastle to their pack for 2023.
Klemmer is the frontrunner to link with the Tigers - and his acquisition doesn’t require losing halfback Luke Brooks.
The forward pack overhaul could prove defining for the Wests Tigers, who already boast key forwards Stefano Utoikamano, Joe Ofehengaue, Alex Twal and promising prop Fonua Pole.
John Bateman is set to join Wests Tigers next in 2023.

In order to sign Bateman, Wests Tigers senior management are comfortable with paying the key forward’s English club, Wigan, a transfer fee, as he still has two years remaining on his Super League contract.
The figure believed to be around $250,000 AUD is paid directly from club to club and would sit outside the Tigers salary cap.
The 29-year-old would return to the NRL with a glowing reputation in the eyes of fans after two quality seasons in the NRL (2019-2020) with Canberra.
Bateman helped transform the Raiders in 2019 with his powerful running game and defensive nous earning him the 2019 Dally M second-rower of the year award.
The recruitment of Bateman has been led by head coach Tim Sheens, who believes the no-nonsense forward will instil genuine steel and leadership to the Tigers.
The Tigers are hoping to sign-off on the deal in the coming days.

If Sheens got both Klem and Friz for Brooks, then I wouldn't be ashamed to call it a masterstroke

Gotta be fair to Sheens as well as Madge and whoever in Admin....if we land Klemmer as well as Bateman on top of Api and Paps it'll be the first time this JV has worn big boy pants in its 22 year history and the young forwards around these guys will get an express development of their skills and self belief. As everyone says....the forwards lay the platform

I'm loving the departures and arrivals/potential arrivals that are happening - didn't think they'd be this active. Imagine a forward pack next year of:

8: Klemmer
9: Koroisau
10: Twal/Stefano
11: Bateman
12: Papali'i
13: Brown/Hastings

Absolutely shits over:

8: Tamou
9: Liddle
10: Musgrove
11: Tuilagi
12: Garner
13: Ofahengaue (who I'll admit was super for us)

I really...as in REALLY like the thought of 4 heavy hitter forwards who have not previously played together turning up at the club at the same time...each motivated by being part of something new in the making...they won't be able to just come in and rest on their reputations as is so often the case

Im just waiting for us all to wake up with wet sheets.

Point well made earlier, Joffa always lifts with quality.

Bateman is superb.

Just need Dessie and we are in the mix.
