I don’t believe it
Old school conservatives who think that because that’s how it was done 30 years ago that is how it is to be done today.
They might pride themselves on being “opinion leaders” and “ social influencers” but no serious business person entertains bullying as conducive or appropriate to any modern day work environment.
Based on media reports this year, some radio stations seems to run a “primary school playground” management style.
As listeners become more sophisticated, and hysterical prejudices fade, that model will inevitably collapse.
The other thing would be to place pressure on the advertisers who de facto and indirectly support this bad humour.
Maybe he’s signed with the eels?!
Yes I like that ideal world idea where people wise up to this. The problem is I think bullying is rife throughout Australia and who knows where else .. behind closed doors ..so hopefully the sponsors and investors can’t see. And the other thing obviously is money. Unfortunately who makes the money gets off with a slap on the wrist. Look at Eddie McGuire and the AFL as a whole re racism...He says he’s sorry about Goodes after that movie came out .. if it happens again would he do anything different...doubt it.. He wouldn’t have the balls because it’s billion dollar industry.
Gillon Mcglaughlin I’m referring to...Eddie McGuire is beyond repair. He’s in the Hadley camp.
No new reliable signings / transfers from West forever today?
Some good points.
I can’t understand why people get upset with race things. Just treat everyone the same.
This country is very diverse and multicultural, nrl especially so. We are the much better for it.
Yip At least we got some class
From the top
Any footy shit to talk about you guys ?? ^^
Feki is unsigned for 2020.
He’d be an astute purchase.
NO, NO & NO please don't go there. By all means sign them to the West Magpies reserve team. Sign them as coaches/advisors to the 6/7 & 9 but no more.
No, They have had their time, time to move forward.
Hold off on the champagne and pop the balloons, because Wests Tigers veterans Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah are ready to cancel their retirement party.
The Tigers life members have told the club they are both looking to play on for one final year in 2020, as reported by Fairfax.
The duo both debuted in 2003 and are hoping to exit the game together if possible.
It was widely believed that their farewell match would be against Cronulla at Leichhardt Oval in round 25, when Sharks’ skipper Paul Gallen will also play the last regular-season game of his long career.
But the Tigers will soon meet with the duo to discuss extending their contracts for one final — 18th — NRL season.
Farah is 36, but has only missed one game for the Tigers at the midpoint of the season. Marshall hasn’t made as many appearances, but has impressed in his seven games this year, with the club still in finals contention.
Their desire to play on could have a major impacts the salary cap situation at Concord.
Coach Michael Maguire is looking to completely revamp his squad, shopping around a host of big names including Russell Packer, Elijah Taylor, Josh Reynolds and Chris McQueen.
Eels prop Tim Mannah is set to complete a switch to the Tigers in the coming fortnight, while Mahe Fonua won’t be re-signed for next season as Maguire cleans out a roster inherited from former coach Ivan Cleary.
If Marshall and Farah can be secured for the right price, they offer valuable leadership and mentoring for a squad which could look very different in 2020.
The Tigers have their long-term replacement for Farah in Jake Simpkin, an under-18 Queensland star who could be thrown into the Tigers’ hooker role for next season if Farah is not retained.
But the prospect of Farah mentoring Simpkin until he is ready to take the reins is an appealing one.
If Maguire does choose not to renew the contracts of Marshall and Farah, don’t expect to see them wearing rival jerseys. The Tigers legends will retire rather than play elsewhere.
The Jake Simpkin comment is interesting, this sounds like Liddle is not being looked at anymore?
Last thing we need is for Benji and Robbie to run around again but I get the feeling the club are pushing it to get their cap in better shape for next year
Club will have definitely lost the plot if these two start again in 2020.
I’m off to the doctors for some valium
Actually it wouldn’t surprise me if Marshall goes around again seeing Maguire drafted him into the NZ preliminary test squad
Yep i think it’s salary cap related.
A couple of legends for beer money to bolster morale at training.
The odd spell off the bench with 20 to go.
Madge has inherited a mess.
Think he was shit stirring.
Separate names with a comma.
