Hypothetical - what if canterbury came knocking tomorrow and offered up DWZ in exchange for Reynolds. Would you accept it?

both clubs take on both contracts full freight, full term. DWZ current deal expires 2022. Probably on 500-600k which is a bit less than Reynolds.

Definitely. It could even work for both teams. The Dogs get someone who loves their club and wants to put in plus we get a potentially awesome outside back. The problem with DWZ is that he has a lot of mistakes in his game as well. When he is on though he is pretty darn good.

Agree with you 100%. Reynolds has given this club sweet f**k all really and taken plenty.

I have Packer 2nd place in our clubs worst ever signings. Every bit as useless as Reynolds but costs less than Reynolds.

f**k, Cleary's signings were completely hopeless bar Corey Thompson.

No one is going to come up with a worse signing because it's so bad. What pisses me off is that he is refusing to leave. Packer has put in some good performances but you are right he has been crap.

Thompson was a good signing. Cleary just screwed us over with his signings. They were just bad.

05 I dont think its hilarious at all.

He has been here for over 100 first grade games, has never taken one by the scruff of the neck and has prevented us going to market to find an able replacement. His defense if acceptable at best anf his attacking kicks are horrible.

He only stayed with us when the other three left because NO other team made an offer.

I think Canterbury were going to take Reynolds back last year before Dean Pay blocked it only to get sacked two weeks later.

I think DWZ is rocks/diamonds type player but he has more upside than Reynolds.

I think Tigers have got to start looking past JAC. We don't have the trade options that Melbourne are after it seems (though it does seem unusual that Momirovski hasnt been part of that discusion).

Plenty of movement this week I feel before November 1.

I reckon Brooks deserves a discussion in relation to is he the half to lead us to the finals or a competition win but you cannot compare his performances to Reynolds. The difference is huge.

Brooks has won us games. The problem is that you need to be fair in your criticism. For instance Brooks won us a game this season at a crunch time with a kick to Douiehi. Brooks has his moments for us. I wouldn't even call him a dud half in the comp. I would agree that there aren't many quality halves in the comp so it's not a great talent pool to pick from.

In relation to Brooks you can get value out of him. I think he is our best option at 7 and Douiehi is probably our best option at 6. Is this combination good enough for us to build on over the next 5 years ? I don't know.

It's cool to have a go at Brooks but not in a debate about our worst ever signing.

Dean Pay was over-ruled by the board re Reynolds.Wise decision by dogs board.

Isaac the dog moses couldnt get Brooks to sign quick enough as no other club was silly enough to b conned by the grub moses into offering brooks a toxic contract. If that wasnt bad enough Maguire in his infinite wisdom upgraded & extended Brooks’s contract early last season so we r stuck with the non entity until end of ‘23.

Brooks isn’t our worst ever signing as this is a club that specialises in signing dregs.

Regarding ur 1st paragraph an emphatic NO as Brooks glaringly doesn’t have the aptitude to take ownership of the team & lead them into finals.

By the time Brooks is free to negotiate with other clubs the following huge contracts will be off our books:
  • Josh Reynolds
  • Russell Packer
  • Joey Leilua
  • Moses Mbye
Doueihi comes off contract the same time as Brooks. Hopefully whoever is in charge of roster management at that time doesn't put us in another hole like the one we're currently in.

We don't want to retain guys on overs as well. It's not worth it. Let's see how those guys are going when it's time to renew their contracts and screw getting screwed over again. If they want to leave go. We shouldn't be playing games with players. We want quality players who want to be here. We pay a fair wage so that we can field a strong team.

Give Brooksy a consistent and willing forward pack, some leadership, a proper game plan and a backline with some actual threat in them and then see how he goes.
Some merkin needs to tell him to get rid of the ridiculous mid field end over end kicks that get gifted to the opposition every 2nd set. Moses does the same shit, they must have got it from Taylor. It boils my piss every time I see it.
