A couple of very informed people are saying that Zac Cini is training and trialling with the Sharks.
Thoughts?
If this is true, good on him. Sharks have had a lot of success with forwards driven out of our club by mismanagement. Backs have been less successful, but I put that down to them not fitting the style of football the coach wanted to play.

Sharks have an issue with depth in their outside backs, which is why they signed Ikuvalu despite Katoa and Mulitalo having a mortgage on the starting wing positions. Cini can definitely provide coverage across the backline, but I just find it strange that we would be letting him go, especially when you consider that the Sharks have better starters than we do in every position that Cini could fill.

If it's true, then he mustn't be very well regarded anymore.

played 3 games of NRL, 1 was really good, 2 horrible

was solid in nsw cup, nothing really screamed out first grader

as a 15/16 year old he was a genuine star of those grades though, he was in those gun Panther Ball/Matt’s teams and a lot of their fans say he was better then Stephen Crichton who was in the same team

apparently he was a good trainer and well liked, hope he makes it with you guys

Cini was a centre who was played at fb in cup and wing in firsts, never got a run in his preferred position, typical west’s tigers

What is interesting (to me anyway) is that Reece Hoffman who only turned 20 this year, was given 1 game in 1st grade in 2020 and nothing since.

Is he the guy they are bringing along slowly? Is he the guy they don't want to rush into 1st grade? If he is the centre they want, they better be careful because Wayne Bennett will no doubt be happy to get a kid back home to BrisVegas.
