Run Into The Finals

Let us take a look at every teams run into the finals this year. With only the top 6 possible of making the 5, I have left out the Titans and the Bears.
North Beach Sea Eagles – 18points - 1st

For – 455, Against – 124, Difference +331
Run Home – Sharks (Away), Bulldogs (Away), Giants (Home), Titans (Home)
Couple of tricky fixtures over the next 2 weeks, starts with a massive trip to Rockingham and then to face the form tricky Bulldogs. While only beating these two teams by 1 and 2 points respectively in the first round, judging on form you would expect them to win at least one of these two games if not both. Finishing with 2 home fixtures against the improved Giants and Titans should prove an easy task for the Championship favourites at this point. Managing injuries and making sure they don’t get complacent heading into the finals will be this teams major concern.
Strength – Consistency. The Sea Eagles are the most complete team in the competition. Defense, Offense, Size, Playmaking ability and Depth. The Sea Eagles are easily the benchmark and will take some stopping this year.
Expected Finish – 1st

Rockingham Sharks – 16points – 2nd

For – 471, Against – 137, Difference +334
Run Home – Sea Eagles (Home), Titans (Home), Bulldogs (Home), Lions (Away)
Tough run home for the sharks with 3 of the top 5 sides left. On form you would think they would take care of the Titans and Bulldogs at home, which would see them make a crucial 2nd/3rd spot regardless of other results. This rounds crunch match with Sea Eagles could see them jump into first on the table, but even if they win their first 3, they have a tricky contest against a hurting Lions team to finish the year.
Strength – Points Scoring. The Sharks are one side in the competition that can blow a side out of the water in a short period of time in the game. Possessing firepower all over the park, their forwards score just as often as their backs.
Expected Finish – 2nd

Kalamunda Bulldogs – 14points – 3rd

For – 362, Against – 256, Difference +106
Run Home – Bears (Home), Sea Eagles (Home), Sharks (Away), Giants (Away)
The surprise packets of the competition this year, the Bulldogs have come to shake up the competition and are surprising teams with their energising play and willingness to never give up and play right to the last whistle. Should walk through the improved bears this week, but a hard run into the finals with danger games against all 3 final teams. Need to win at least one of those (probably against the Giants away, otherwise could be staring at a 5th place finish).
Strength – Unpredictability. Probably surprised a few teams in the first round, the Bulldogs love to move the ball. Not afraid to chance their arm in their own half, they are the West Tigers of this league and can be brilliant and stupid in the same 5 minute spell.
Expected Finish – 4th

South Perth Lions – 12points – 4th

For – 354, Against – 185, Difference +169
Run Home - Giants (Away), Bears (Home), Roosters (Away), Sharks (Home)
The defending premiers have just suffered one of their worst defeats in recent years and how they respond will shape their season. A tricky game against the Giants this weekend as the Giants must win to stay with the top 5. A fair run home, with a win against the Bears, and against an out of sorts Roosters side. Finishing with a home game against the sharks, the lions will be looking to a double chance spot.
Strength – Culture. Say what you like about the Lions this year or any other year for that matter. This is one club that knows how to win. A major feature in the competition for the last 10 years, when push comes to shove they know how to get the job done.
Expected Finish – 3rd

Fremantle Roosters – 10points – 5th

For – 288, Against – 238, Difference +50
Run Home - Titans (Away), Giants (Home), Lions (Home), Bears (Home)
The flailing Roosters have lost 3 on the trot. Lucky for them they have the easiest run home of the final 5 with winnable games against Titans, Giants and Bears, with the Lions at home in between. Could grab a 2nd/3rd spot but for and against will hurt them, and if they drop a game against either Titans or Giants in the next 2 weeks, will have sealed their own coffin to win from 5th
Strength – Individual Brilliance. Delane, Taj, Jonathon Presely. All game winners in their own right. Fremantle have players capable of that special something when they need a big play. Unfortunantly they have been asked too much too often by their team mates this year.
Expected Finish – 5th

Joondalup Giants – 6points – 6th

For – 268, Against – 310, Difference -42
Run Home - Lions (Home), Roosters (Away), Sea Eagles (Away), Bulldogs (Home)
The disappointing Giants are the only team left with a chance of making the playoffs. It will not be an easy task, and will have to win at least 3 of their last 4 and hope results go their way. 4 from 4 may not even be enough to secure a birth. Losing to the Titans in the first round, and letting all their first half leads slip away this year has hurt them. A huge ask for the Giants, but a lot of team realise that the Giants are not far from being a good side
Strength – Starts. How often have the fast starting Giants led in their games this year only to be run over in the 2nd half. Is it a fitness problem? No one knows but if they can get the rest of the game like their starts they could surprise everyone and sneak into the playoffs.
Expected Finish – 6th
