Russel Smith> the worst ref in the game

I can’t believe how much this pommy ref missed in today’s Broncos – Storm game. This game was always going to be one of the fastest of the year because they are the two best attacking teams in the comp, if he cant keep up, he should be back in england.

His interpretation of the rules are not up to standard, Robert Finch should do something about it!

i think storm and broncos fans can agree, russel smith is utter crap. Im not gonna bother mentioning all of his poor decisions today, but it was just ridiculous, even painful to watch. I hope he is booted to premier league, but that never seems to happen with the sub par refs. He is crap.

The play the ball area was an absolute joke today, he needed to make a stance and stick with it the whole game instead one minute he was being absolute pedantic with his penalties the next he was letting blatant fouls and knock on's go. As for his penalty against Lockyer for tackling Slater in mid air, well the less said about that call the better.

I must admit, I didn't watch the game that close, but I thought a knock on call against Billy Slater just before half time was particularly tough - If Kermy Hunt wasn't leg pulling in the ruck, I'm not here. Same goes second half, again not watching too closely, but it looked as though I think Dallas Johnson was interferring illegitimately in the ruck at a Lockyer play the ball.

That Locky tackle was the iceing on the cake, he never even locked at slatter, if he cought the ball he waould have scored.

The problem with all the referees is that they haven't learnt the art that Harrogan perfected (well in most games, he had his moments as well) that it's not about pulling up every little indescretion, it's about letting the game flow.

Another shocker was Hampstead in the Broncos v Warriors match a couple of weeks ago, two teams going toe to toe wanting to play football and every five seconds the whistle going, I lost count of the ridiculous piggy back penalties both sides got that day.

Shayne Hayne is CONSISTENTLY the worst ref. Hands DOWN!...Week-in, week-out!

Other may have a SHOCKER every now & then, but - These 'Others' are only 'fighting' for 2nd place long as he's on the job, I'm afraid!! :lol:
