Sack flanno come on keeps picking loses and again sloan has lost 4 games this season
This has to be a joke? Look at our team, we have our starting winger, starting centre (who is our best player), our best prop, starting back rower, probably our best bench forward in Ryan all out for the season. We lost our best available winger in the game, and the coach had them up and about in the second half. They should have won that game with an injury riddled side. Sloan was f**king stupid at the end, but that’s not coaching. That’s the reason he keeps getting dropped, unfortunately for us every time he gets dropped we lose a back so he is re-called.
I agree Sloan shouldn’t be playing first grade, but we have no one else. His son should be dropped after that kicking performance. That’s the one gripe I have with Flanno but Flanno should be proud of that performance, not sacked

Couchmans, Egan.Tui.
Ok.
Holmes season over before he injured..
Sua has missed a few.
Guler hasn't done much.
Faegai too slow.

The rest like the last two wouldn't play fg.

Oh whinge whinge, this is largely a list of nobodies or young players who are still learning their craft and very much unproven.

The fact that the coach couldn't do any better than this list with recruitment or at least have adequate depth signings to cover some of these sub par players, shows once again what a poor job he has done.

Shane Flanagan's 35% win ratio this season to date is one of the worst by a dragons coach in recent memory, only to be surpassed by the 2023, 2020 and 2019 seasons currently, however it may end up worse than this as there is still more games to go this year.

How you can continually defend this failure of a coach and never apply any critical though is laughable.

The losses are compounding, whether they’re close games, hard-fought games, no intent, poor execution, no desire, poor game plans, etc.

In my opinion, the board of directors needs to go, DY needs to go, the JV must be dissolved. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel with the current setup. Whichever coach gets appointed will continue to lose.

Lawrie is literally unsellable. Worst front rower in the NRL. Blame the morons who resigned the world‘s greatest plodder on Griffin’s watch. Not Flanno’s fault.
Sloan has been “on the market“ for about 2 weeks. Someone will take a punt on him either in England or here.
Weird choices to blame Flanno for being stuck with. One is unsellable, the other has only just been placed in the showroom window…..
Surely, Haran must take responsibility for extending Lawie, Ravalava and Sloan.

We should have let them go and then sign AFB, Bosstock, and Temale.

To Shane.
We heard promise.
We’ve all seen the results.
We don’t know how to win.
We know how to loose consistently.
You Shane are at a crossroads

The illustrious Red V deserves far better representation then it is currently being served

What a load of crap this “Sack Flanagan thread is!
He will be our Coach for 2026 ,then if things do not improve let’s worry about it then.
In View of many factors this year I personally think he should be given next year to either have redemption or then be replaced.

Unless there's an absolute catastrophe of Biblical proportions, your assessment here is 100% correct.
There are no 'drums beating!'

Yep, Flanagan has made some mistakes, however, the plus column has more entries than the negative. This is the assessment from those that matter.

To solely focus on the win/loss column is myopic at best.

As already discussed, the new CEO and Flanagan will work closely in the recruitment and retention process between now and the off season. This is undeniable and factual.
This has become the major mission for the Club, with the Bears and PNG entering the comp. A balance between experience and youth will be challenging. That being said, we need players who want to play for the RedV not for just a pay packet or retirement fund.

Every Team will be doing the same, no doubt.

In summary, Flanagan will be HC in 2026, a decision beyond that will be made during next season.

I think that almost all the “sack Flanno” posters are resigned to him being HC in 2026 it is more about not extending him beyond 2026.

There are those that think there is significant enough signs of “improvement” to warrant an early extension and there are those that say “despite said improvements it is not enough to warrant an extension”

Then there are those that say “despite losing a lot of close games we haven’t actually improved because we didn’t win them”

I sit somewhere between the 2nd & 3rd points

Did I miss somewhere that this is a competitive sort and the aim is to win?

Wins are your currency as a head coach, I daresay not many coaches in history hang around for long after they coach an entire season with a win/loss ratio of less than 35% particularly when it isn't their first year at said club.

We've seen what keeping a coach around too long does to the club, need I remind you of the Mary years?

I can confidently say that this club has no future with Flanagan as it's head coach and his son as our halfback, we've all seen enough in the last two years to know this, it's just some can't bring themselves to see it. We've gotten worse this year, that's why we've only won six games and will struggle to win many more. If there was improvement year on year, Flanagan would have much less critics in this forum and the wider dragons supporter base.

I'm not sure anyone can say with any degree of confidence that Flanagan is going to turn things around next year.

What signs are there when his second season is proving to be much worse than his first?
What signs are there when thus far we've recruited one new player for next season who we can't even be sure will actually improve the side?

Not Eisenhuth in the centres. Eisenhuth around the ruck. He definitely added something to our squad. Had one of the quickest hitups and play the ball in the game. Tradesman
A lovely guy totally professional but depth at very best and actually past it before he got to us
